★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great place to stop in for lunch. It's an old prairie hotel. We like to stop in whenever we do a short road trip to eastern Alberta.
Make your way to the tavern and order the "fritou" chicken meal. Be warned though. Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes as the chicken is freshly battered when the order is made. Well worth the wait!
Service is prompt and courteous. Because I don't drink an ride, I can't tell you much about drink specials but it is a tavern after all!
It's usually pretty quiet during the lunch hour but... Smoky Lake has a HUGE pumpkin contest and festival in October. By all accounts, it's near impossible to get into the pub let alone book a room. So if you're thinking of attending, book well ahead. Otherwise, any other time, pop in for that chicken!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The meal was excellent with a menu with a reasonable variety of items. Service was good and prices were okay considering the quality and quantity of the food items. My hot hamburger sandwich was the best I've had in a long time. This restaurant is located across West Railway Drive northwest of the Big Pumpkin statues in the Smoky Lake Iron Horse Trail Staging Area park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ RESTARAUNT only Best burger I have had in a long while, and affordable too. The very nice lady brought it out to us and included extra napkins as I mentioned we were on a day trip from the city. Will deff. go back, it was really good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited 10 minutes just to get someone to come give out us menus and ask for our drink order, waited another 5+ mins for the coffee and water so we left. Apparently the left over partiers in the lounge were more important then me and my son trying to get breakfast. Not impressed! Especially for a historic site.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried the lounge/bar on Saturday afternoon. Waited and waited, no server around. The server then became too occupied with a Skip the Dishes driver to be able to serve any tables. We left after the table in ahead of us was still waiting 15 mins for their first drinks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just stopped in for lunch, so I can't speak for the actual 'inn' portion. But I can tell you that the lunch I had was excellent! I got the western fried chicken and a carrot lava cake (with cream cheese filling). Both were absolutely delicious!! The chicken was crispy and juicy and the cake was moist and flavorful.
Also, though I didn't drink because I was driving, the very friendly waitor made a 'smoked old fashioned'. It was very cool to watch being made and it smelled amazing!
