Love this gym. Welcoming for all shapes and sizes. Zac has a long term healthy approach to fitness, not a quick-fix gimmick. This is good pre-crossfit-pre-marketing hard workout ... Stuff.

I decided to check out Smash when I saw on Facebook that Zac was training female rugby players at his gym. He was posting encouraging, helpful fitness tips in the Calgary Rams Women's rugby group as well as photos of them working out. I play touch rugby often and more than once I've heard players say they want to train with our group touch rugby players between our games to get in better shape. We started going to Zac's circuit sessions at Smash in November 2015 and haven't looked back. Every Smash workout has mix of agility drills and strength training. The work outs are brutal but you can't beat the upbeat atmosphere, awesome people and the fact that Smash is a REAL gym - no stair masters or elipticals or "machines". It's a true, old-school gym run by a guy who knows his stuff and is always there to teach you & push you.

I started working out in January of 2019 when Zac started his new class format. What appealed to me that made me start to work out again after a very long time was the flexibility of class types at different times of days in the week. About a month after I started to work out consistently, he started "The Project" which was his 8 week nutrition meeting. The way that Zac presents how to go about making changes in your eating lifestyle clicked with me as it wasn't "you have to do it this way!". At the end of the "The Project" I had lost 16 pounds and changed my body composition. If you're looking for someone that will not "cookie cutter" you and will figure out a way that it works for you...Zac is who you want to talk to!
