Skrtich Living

As a first time tenant or experienced tenant living off campus, I would highly recommend Skrtich Living to other students. The rent is high but the apartments are spacious and private. PS not having to share a bathroom is a luxury.

Very highly recommended. Ideal for any students. All amenities and bus stops are very close to their rental locations. Employees are knowledgeable within the area and energetic with regards to the social inclusivity that the business promotes. For ease of use for their tenants you are able to rent fully furnished room and or apartment but are also welcome to bring your own items. All locations have been upgraded or are a brand new building!! Maintenance staff is friendly, fast paced and encourageable. Skrtich Living is very socially driven especially during the summer months... they have bbq socials for the tenants to get to know each other and the staff which is great for those who are brand new to the area. During basketball season for some games tenants are even welcomed to free tickets while they last to enjoy the games as they are a proud sponser of the Niagara River lions.

I have been here for 2 years and I LOVE IT! If you are looking for optimal living, I strongly recommend Skrtich Living. The locations are perfect for Brock students such as myself as will as Niagara College students regardless of what campus (Welland or NOTL). It is always clean and I don't have to wait long for a response or action to be taken. Groceries and bus stops are a short walk away as well as the cool Lock 7. Everything is included. It's worth paying a little extra

I lived here for a couple years in one of the student houses and never had any problems. Very clean and safe. The neighborhood has everything you need.

Overall: Skrtich Living is a great option! I wish Google did half stars - 4.5 is my true rating! As a tenant for almost 2 years (23 months) at McArthur Lane, I can say it is a suitable place for upper year students or young people transitioning out of post-secondary school. With private ensuites that have lots of storage and lots of closet space, McArthur Lane offers significant privacy which was a major plus! I recommend the corner unit if you love natural light or plant life since it has 2 windows! Staff: As for staff, Christian has been a pleasure to communicate with over the last couple months! He is a perfect match for the company and does an amazing job with property management. Christian has been doing excellent with roommate pairing to ensure comfort of all tenants and is super outgoing. Staff in general are friendly and receptive. If there was any complication, they were super flexible with me if I communicated well in advance. In addition, I love that they let you ship packages to the rental office to prevent package theft! Great idea and well organized. Location: Perfect location for commuting to downtown, Brock, or the Pen Centre. The Thorold bus terminal hub is just 3 minutes away with multiple routes to every place! In addition, traffic noise is limited since the McArthur building is located on a one-direction lane sandwiched by buildings between the downtown core and Ormond (a busier street). It is also easy to access necessities such as groceries and a pharmacy with a shopping plaza a block away. Foodland can be expensive so a quick bus trip to the Zehrs at the Pen is a better go-to! Cons: The three drawbacks are that it is not sound proof, the unit I lived in was coin-op laundry, and there is no green space. I've experienced "thumpers" in the unit above which can be annoying, especially if they enjoy parties that develop into early morning. As well, the noise your roommates make can travel. I was lucky to live with great people! Laundry can become pricey if you don't have a lot of clothes to rotate through and the machines are top loaders that aren't super gentle with clothes. The green space is limited with a patio and sometimes neglected garden on the side of the building. There are parks in the neighborhood if you seek them out as a solution. However, the significant majority of my time here was beyond enjoyable with no major complaints! Thank you for such a great experience in my final years as a Brock student!

I lived in the shared houses and have never had an issue. The management team was pleasant to deal with.

I've been a tenant with Skrtich Living now for about 2 years. The building I live in is great, very quiet never had noise complaints, its clean and always well maintained. My favourite amenity at my building is the gym. In the previous apartment building I lived in our gym area was never cleaned, equipment would break down and never be fixed. With Skrtich, I never have to worry about that, the area is sanitized and I've never seen a machine out of service in all my time living here which is important to me as an avid gym user. All my maintenance issues have always been resolved promptly. Recently there has been some management changes which has only made my experience living with Skrtich that must better. Christian in particular has gone out of his way to resolve any issues I have, his responses are always professional and prompt. I can't praise Skrtich enough, finding a decent apartment building in Niagara is always a battle and I'm thrilled I have found this building. Keep up the good work!

I'm a teenage girl, first year student at brock and I was told it would be a student living, I come in and see myself with grown men who graduated years ago. I'm one girl living with 3 men, I asked to be moved and skritch refused, they also did not honour the lease agreements, the ceiling fan is spoilt, the wifi is terrible, the dishwasher is spoilt, the toilet door lock is spoilt, the microwave handle is spoilt, there is no space left in the common areas, the other tenants have filled everything up, nothing can be assigned to me, even the fridge has no space for my groceries, the common areas are dirty and disorganized, the living room has been turned to a gym and storage, the ceiling fan and such gym equipment are safety hazards. I cannot believe a property management would set me up like this, they called the police on me when I went to complain at their office. Please if you are a student looking a place, inquire about apartments because skritch is no different from a landlord renting your out his room.
