The staff take good care of the park, especially the play area and the two beaches. The water in the beach area was clear and free of seaweed until right near the buoy line. The comfort station looked recently updated and clean, and even the pit toilet buildings in our camp area were surprisingly clean and not-so-badly smelly. The biggest drawbacks of the park are 1) the rooster located at the house right next to the park and sometimes the road traffic for those camping in the two areas closest to the highway; and 2) the small size of the park itself, leading to some (very) small sites and the central location of the maintenance yard for the park, which is both sort of not a great place to look at, and sometimes also noisy (think of the beeping vehicles make when in reverse). The kids also liked the short walk/boardwalk through the marsh. Lots to look at, and a great many frogs to try to find and catch (and release).

A small provincial park. Right off #7-Trans Canada Hwy. So there are many sites right off the hwy, with not a lot of woods between you & hwy, so it can be noisey at times - & all night. Came and told us to turn our already not very loud music down BEFORE 11. Said doesn't matter what time others are sleeping ? Kinda strict on some rules & not a whole lot of places you can take your dog. I'd probably try somewhere else before I went back there again. Two beaches and they were nice. Some pretty nice sites depending on which you pick or get but many have uneven ground, so may be hard if you have a few tents per site. Good for families with small kids maybe not so much for young adults who stay up a little later.

Itโ€™s a great place to enjoy the holidays , weekends. Clean and organized. The only concern is about the hwy been right beside the park, unlucky for those who book the closest sites and for Pets, they are allowed but thereโ€™s a really small spot for them to enjoy the water, whereโ€™s the only place that they can be unleashed.

We spent a weekend at Silver Lake Provincial Park in July 2021. Our experience was just fine, but we won't return to this park in the future. We stayed at campsite #67 which was a nice site! When we booked the site, there was a warning that it was close to the highway, but we underestimated just how noisy the highway would be. At all hours of the day, we could hear cars and trucks driving by. We could hear traffic from almost anywhere in the park, which detracted from the relaxing weekend we hoped for. There isn't really much to do in the park at all - we fished from shore (and caught a couple fish), and there are canoes, kayaks and SUPs available to rent (we passed on this), and a short boardwalk trail through a bog. The only other activities/common space in the park are a couple of artificial beaches, which were very busy every day, and several picnic areas. There is just something about an artificial beach on a beautiful lake that is off-putting and un-natural, and not very inviting to swim in, although we did anyways. The campground was well kept, bathrooms were clean, and we were able to buy necessities like ice from the park store. Overall - this is a very small provincial park which is nice for families with small kids, but not great for those wishing to really get into nature and away from the noise of everyday life. As an aside, we recommend checking out the ice cream shop just across the road from the park entrance!

Very cute but very small Provincial Park! You can basically walk all around the entire park in about 10-15 mins. Some of the campsites are really nice and private, with some overlooking various lake areas and bays. Canoeing/kayaking on this lake is a great experience and a definite must. You can cover most of the lake in about 2 hours. The only downside of this park, is the same as Sharbot Lake, which is that it is very close to the road and you basically hear trucks and cars pass by all day and night. Not much of a wilderness experience.

A great little park with hiking trails and beautiful sites right on the water. It can be a bit noisy near the highway but the views are amazing

Amazing camping experience. We were on site #2 which was a great site. Flat area with mostly dirt camping pad. A few trees along the back of the camping spot to tie up rope for clothes line. Had fire pit and picnic table. Close to playground, beach, comfort station and store. Great walkable park and also had small nature trail that had boardwalk over a marsh area. The beach was Fairly large and clean with sectioned off portion for swimming. No lifeguard which is fine since I watch my kids go swimming. Playground was excellent for kids ages 2.5- 10 yrs old. The older boys also had fun biking around the park. Comfort stations were cleaned multiple times a day which was very appreciated. Store sold fire wood and ice cream which the kids loved.
