Our Story
It all started in 1999 with 3 customers in Linden Woods. Hi, I’m Joanna and I started cleaning homes out of the trunk of my car in 1999, and fell in LOVE with making things sparkle and customers wildly happy. It wasn’t long before I had a vacuum AND a Vision!
I created Signature Cleaning Services, a residential and commercial cleaning service that focuses on delivering excellent cleaning worthy of the customers’ hard-earned dollar.
Word of mouth spread fast, and I hired a few friends to help me part time. It was in this time that I developed the Signature Wash Dry Shine Method and the Cleaning Work Flow that customers rave about every week. I have always felt that my name was on the line every single day and with every single clean. 20 years later, I still feel that every day as the Teams roll out in the morning.

My phone BLEW UP! I hired and trained employees who I felt held many of the values I had, and read a million books on management, culture, being OK with being the Boss, communication, and every topic that I needed, in order to make Signature a great place to be. I knew it started with ME! I am STILL doing this – 20 years in. What I am reading right now: The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John Maxwell.
Our entire business model is centered around two very simple objectives:
1. Make Signature a GREAT place to work.
2. Provide excellent cleaning and a service experience worthy of a WOW.
Fast Forward to 2015, I have 7 teams and am in desperate need of someone to take care of the HR so I can continue to put my heart into innovation and making Signature better. Introducing Rach Fedora, my sister who has a background in HR. She left her job in management at CityTV and joined me for a one year term. Because you know: sisters. It would either be totally awesome, or really bad. A year passed and not one fight. Who knew we would be like the Dynamic Duo. Do we have Pink Capes? Maybe. Not telling. She is now Partner on this adventure and we are continuing to rack up the “Slam Dunks” and High Fives!
There is so much awesome around here. In 2018 we not only reached, but far surpassed the 1 Million Dollar Milestone, and I won the WBOM Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award! I LOVE my job, am in LOVE with Signature and adore all the people who invest every day into making my vision come to life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BOOKER BEWARE!! I was a client of Signature every 4 weeks and while they do a wonderful job cleaning I must warn others of the experience I had when they broke my microwave. We were at the cottage when Signature cleaned last, they were the only people in our condo while we were gone, and we got home our microwave light was on and door was open. Turns out the latch to the door had broken between we left for the cottage and we arrived home. When I first called I was told there had been a quality supervisor present for my cleaning who had check the microwave and so they knew it wasn’t them. The microwave repair person informed me that the latch would’ve only be able to break under pressure while being closed and cost me $280. I called the owner, Joanne, and she had the audacity to suggest that my microwave broke because the construction across the street shifted my condo and apparently only affected my microwave latch. While laughable, I found it insulting that she would pass the blame from her team like that. Do not book if you expect your cleaners to fix something they broke.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was our first time hiring cleaning service to our home and we are happy of the results. They were quick to respond and easy to reach. The house smelled clean when we came in. Although there was a small spot of dust under the bed, it was still acceptable. The washroom still sparkles even after a few days of service. They made our day easier. Will definitely hire the team again in the future.
