★ ★ ★ ★ ★ War eine super tolle Erfahrung die man nie vergisst...im Mai/Juni 1989 mit dem Panzeraufklärungsbataillon 4 aus Roding. Im Rahmenprogramm via North Dakota/South Dakota nach Minneapolis/St. Paul (Minnesota) und River Falls (Wisconsin), sowie in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Standort Shilo die nächstgelegene Stadt Brandon/Manitoba...war stets eine Erlebnisfahrt mit dem Großraumtaxi ;-). Landschaftlich hat das Land und die Prärie vieles und Interessantes zu bieten mit sehr viel unbewohnter Fläche. Man muss es einfach genießen incl. der unzähligen Polarlichterscheinungen aus der Panzerluke des Kpz Leopard. Gerne wieder und für immer Empfehlenswert!
It was a great experience that you will never forget ... in May / June 1989 with the Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion 4 from Roding. As part of the supporting program via North Dakota / South Dakota to Minneapolis / St. Paul (Minnesota) and River Falls (Wisconsin), as well as the closest city Brandon / Manitoba in the immediate vicinity of the Shilo location ... was always an adventure trip with the large-capacity taxi ;-). In terms of landscape, the country and the prairie have a lot to offer and interesting things with a lot of uninhabited area. You just have to enjoy it including the countless auroras from the armored hatch of the Kpz Leopard. Gladly again and always recommendable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ War 1991 + 1992 nach CFB Shilo kommandiert und war dort Truppführer im WtgTrp ÜB, der Wartungsgruppe für die Übtruppen. Die schönste Zeit meines Lebens, und ich vermisse es ;) War seither leider erst wieder 2x in Canada (1996 + 2016). Für 2022 ist ein weiterer Urlaub dort geplant. Gruß an alle Shiloraner ;)
Was commanded to CFB Shilo in 1991 + 1992 and was a squad leader in the WtgTrp ÜB, the maintenance group for the overtops. The best time of my life, and I miss it;) Since then I have only been to Canada twice (1996 + 2016). Another vacation is planned for 2022. Greetings to all Shilorans;)
