About Shelter House-Thunder Bay
Emergency Overnight Shelter
Shelter House’s temporary, emergency shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We can accommodate up to 62 men, women, and youth (age 16 to 25) in segregated dorms. We are the only shelter in Thunder Bay that accepts people who are under the influence of alcohol or other substances. We provide shower and laundry facilities, and connections to essential support for gaining stability to move forward.
Much Needed Items
Any of the following items can be donated at our shelter (420 George St) best time to donate is before 1:30 pm or after 3:30 pm, 7 days a week.
- Personal Hygiene Products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, soap, shampoo, etc.)
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Towels & Rags
- Blankets
- Socks & Underwear
- Hats/Toques (weather dependent)
- Mittens/Gloves (weather dependent)
