A great hidden gem. The loop runs along granite ridges and through oak forests before topping out at a panoramic high spot. Trails are rugged and sometimes poorly marked. The start of the trail is deceptively tame, it quickly becomes an intermediate trail. Someone of the rock outcroppings the trail traverses can tend to be very slick. In autumn the trail tends to be quite muddy, and the beavers in the area are focused on reengineering the route which crosses at least one dam. The old trail loop is still there, and can be found on maps but it is closed and marked as such - it hasn't been maintained for several years and is significantly more rugged than the current path so here the signs. Overall this is a great location!!

We spent 2 hours hiking but that's because our dogs needed breaks from the heat. It's rocky and just a little bit challenging for me and my husband. The trail is not overcrowded, only saw a few people. You have to pay $5 for a full-day parking via phone or online.

2019-10 - Great hiking trail that takes you to an amazing 360 degree view with many gems along the way. Highly recommended. 2020-10 - Another visit even better than the first.

Loved this trail very rustic and beautiful views at the top. I'd recommend this for people who can handle rough terrain. Alot of climbing and water crossings.

Fun hiking trails for sure. Looked like a good place to kayak too- we’ll be back to try that some time. The sky viewing station is essentially just a platform & some signs, but it still seemed like it would be a cool thing to check out on a warm, summer night. Definitely recommend for the hiking though.

Lovely scenery, lots of rocks, water, and great views. Advanced hiking trail which I like. Wouldn't recommend it for someone with mobility issues.

Definitely moderate-difficult hike that will get your heart rate up. Took us about 1.5-2 hours and we measured it at 5.2 km. Mix of shaded and uncovered trail, with a few challenging inclines and beaver dam crossings. Great views of surrounding lakes and Canadian Shield rocks.
