About
It is important that you know at least a little about the lawyer you intend to trust with your legal matter. I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario and achieved my Bachelor of Science Biology degree from Lakehead University in 2004.
I attended law school at the University of Manitoba earning the Pitblado Scholarship in 2007 for the Dean’s Honour List, and graduated in 2009. In 2010 I became fully licensed to practice law in Ontario by the Law Society of Upper Canada. I practiced as an associate lawyer with Larson Lawyers (previously known as Rene Larson Law Office) from 2010 until opening my own firm in 2017.
Since becoming fully licensed in 2010 I have primarily practiced in the area of family law and I also have extensive experience in preparing Powers of Attorney and Wills custom to my client’s needs and specifications. I have argued cases at the Ontario Court of Justice, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Divisional Court, and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my Wife and our daughter. As a family we especially enjoy spending time in the outdoors camping, swimming, and going for walks.
What I enjoy most about practicing law is helping my clients achieve a fair and reasonable resolution to their family matter and in turn helping them navigate through this process which can often be complicated and stressful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I retained Serge about 6 years ago for my family law case. before he had his own firm and was employed elsewhere. When my exwife figured out I was paying for a lawyer she would email him all kinds of ridiculous stuff all in an attempt to cost me money as every email he would respond to cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $50. I spoke to Serge and told him to stop responding to her stupid emails. " he refused and said he had to because I retained him." My ex would constantly misfiled or neglect to file key documents in time so out of the kindness of his heart Serge would email her and walk her through the process "while billing me of course" I asked that he stop doing this and let her take care of herself again he refused and continued to help my exwife as she had no attorney or common sense. In hine sight I should have just added my exwife's name on the retainer because he probably helped her more than me. I cancelled my retainer shortly after and was able to get about a fifth of it back. If you need a pitbull this is not your guy unless he's done a 180 in the last 5 years.

Whenever a communication (letter, email, etc) came through from opposition, he would quickly forward it to me and was prepared to immediately respond after I had a chance to review it all. He met with me on occasion to sign and go through paperwork or to prepare for an upcoming case conference to make sure everything was ready to go. He was very efficient and kept me in the loop with everything concerning my case. I was able to email him as well and he always responded in timely fashion. His receptionist was wonderful as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Serge! You won’t regret it.
