Serendipity Winery

Our tasting with Katie was outstanding. Her passion for wine was evident in the knowledge she shared with us. The wines were delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. Our experience was informative and enjoyable. By far our most positive tasting experience among many. We would highly recommend Serendipity Winery.

What a shift in scope. Like seeing the difference between the first two seasons of Red Dwarf in comparison to the rest of the show. Wow, that was a deep cut. I never claimed to write these for anyone else but myself. The last time we were here, Serendipity was barely more than someone’s house…in fact, I think it was. There was a living area and kitchen counter. We felt we were intruding for only a few moments before settling into the experience. Don’t look too much into that comment—we didn’t unbuckle our pants and put on the game. I’m only saying we felt welcome. We bought wine then; we adored the conversation with the owners but most of all, we liked the wine. I still own a 2013 Pinot Grigio. The owners promised a new location, something that would justify a revisit. That was August of 2016, part of an extended wine trip my girlfriend and I had taken involving 60 wineries over a week. Then in May of this year (2017), we took our friends on a similar trip, though this time, it was only 40 wineries. I know, losing our groove. Serendipity was one of the few revisits planned. It was late in the day, nearly closing. Wineries closer to Naramata close at five while those nearer to Penticton close at six, and here we were moving in the opposite direction, starting at Penticton, and migrating to Naramata. After leaving Kettle Valley, we plotted a direct course for Serendipity with no comprehension of what to expect. I’ve not seen a transformation this significant since Caitlyn Jenner, Apple Computer, or the SDF-1. I could have named a transformer, but I needed a deeper cut after the Red Dwarf line. It’s amazing what Serendipity has been able to accomplish. This place is amazing. Colossal carved wooden doors, towering glass, and hallways perfect aligned to face the sun at the perfect time. Vineyards appropriately surround the grounds. Serendipity has now become one of the definitive destination spots of the Okanagan, boasting one of the best-looking construction efforts in the region and paired with some of its best wine. I’m almost curious to return in a year just to see if anything else has changed. It should be noted that you may miss the entrance as you drive by, but commit yourself—it’s worth the stop.

Just came for dinner at the bistro and it was wonderful. The chef is very accomplished and I am familiar with his past successes in Calgary. All of the dishes had local and fresh ingredients and I was impressed by how creative they were. The Road to Hana Poke, deconstructed and plated to tell a story of the actual Road to Hana. The Avocado Scotch Egg, very imaginative and original. The Lobster Lasagna, noodle-less and so delicious. Well done.

I had heard about this smaller family winery online and decided to book a dinner reservation. We had an excellent time tasting a bit of everything from the menu. The share-type plates are all different but just the right portions and very well thought out. The chef has excellent taste. I love that they added popcorn to a dish just because it was fun. It was totally fun! The Mom of the house was the only one there when we were and we had a great time with her. She helped us pair everything perfectly. They work really hard at this winery. I'm impressed she's so lovely after such a long day and no where near the end of it for her. We'll definitely be back.

We came for wine tasting and wow blown away. We got a chance to talk to the owner and got tons of background on wine making which is nice and a personal touch. The wine itself is amazing. Many of the Reds are 2011 and 2012. They want the wines to be cellard when people buy them. Wow it shows. Very impressed. My wife liked the rose alot. Cost carries but very good prices especially for a 2011. Staff was very professional and seemed to appreciate our business. Walked out with 7 bottles

Beautiful hidden gem of the naramata section of the bench, their red wines are beautiful, highly recommend their wine called - "the next step"

Had a great time there for Mother's Day. We met the owner Judy who takes pride in meeting her customers and she even brought us her own tasty and savoury homemade scones for a small snack before our lunch. Tristan the chef was amazing and friendly, and created awesome dishes. The tiger prawns with mango salsa and tostadas were delicious and a good sized portion. We appreciated the heaters on the covered patio as the weather was still cool. Service was prompt and came at just the right times. We had the cheese platter for dessert and it was super and just right for 4 to share. Next time we will return for some wine tasting too, as the wines we had for lunch were very good. Try the viogner - it's a great pairing with that shrimp dish ;)

Enjoyed our wine tasting, liked hearing the stories and the food pairing to go with the wines. Had lunch at the bistro and it was delicious. The flavor combinations were amazing! Chef Tristan is truly talented. A bistro meal or snack is a must at Serendipity! All the staff were very pleasant and professional. Looking forward to returning.
