I wouldn't even give them 1 star. I returned my uniform 2 months later and they took it and kept it and a weeks later said that I wouldn't be paid because I had to return it within 7 days and also did not return the uniform. Then they stopped replying to mails.

I worked for Russell for over 7 years part-time. I hear the 'grief' that's being expressed by others here--I was never treated unfairly, although I will admit that the work is often thankless. Several young guys in the College program for Law Enforcement (in Barrie) came to Russell for work experience and enjoyed it, without complaint. Since Russell is non-union, they are favoured by certain companies, such as Honda, which was my favourite site by far. Two things about security: 1) you get to see the inside workings of some fascinating companies 2) you will conquer your habit of gulping coffee by the bucket to stay awake! I heard horror stories about other security companies & their egregious treatment of their guards and I concluded that Russell was probably one of the better outfits. If you want to do security, expect to take the rough with the smooth.

- They hire supervisors with low experience - Post orders always out dated - They can fire you anytime they want by pulling an excuse such as "The client doesn't want you on the site anymore" - The training you get is very little - Management is the worst about this company, especially the client service manager. Unprofessional, rude and unfair. -Payroll mistakes -Management tells guards to give positive reviews to Russel Security Inc. (was already told twice) If you're looking for a job that you don't plan on taking it seriously and need some extra money, this is the right company for you.

I have worked for RSSI for over five years now. A lot of the negative reviews I see here are complaints that one could make of any company across the security industry. My role has allowed me to maintain a close relationship with the management team in our Barrie office. I would argue that the ease of access to upper management that is afforded to any and all guards is one of the reasons I have remained here as long as have. If you have a complaint, have a question or just want to stop in and say hello, the door is always open.

I never got into any problems with Russel Security. I always did a good job and attended my shifts on time and done things by the book. After 6 months of employment, I sent an email to Russel Security Management Team to ask for a raise. I got no reply from them. I sent another e-mail and still no reply. Even called them and they said "We will look into it". The management team is quite unprofessional. Lack of training and most sites they have SUCK. Stay away from this company folks.

I'm not one to publicly shame someone for their business, but Russel has truly dropped the ball. My cottage is in Barrie which has alarm monitoring and unfortunately my monitoring company uses Russel for alarm dispatch. Sadly, they missed a time when they broke into the side glass windows and had some teenagers break into my cottage, tear the place apart and stole some of my belongings. After months of arguments with my monitoring company, insurance and Russell, I'm still nowhere near the end of solving this. Even the owner Joe has been involved but completely disregards my case. Please check your agreements people! Make sure your monitoring company is not with them! I live in London and having to deal with this being 3 hours away IS NOT FUN.

I wish no one has to experience what just happened to me today. Dave beck is the rudest person i have ever met. I wish there was an option to give 0 star. Everyone deserves respect. It does not matter that you are HR but you can not just yell at people instead of talking. I will not recommend anyone to work here if you have self respect.
