I have an AMAZING family doctor. Dr. Gwen Rajakumar, she is very kind, helpful, knowledgeable, supportive and compassionate towards her patients. But my only problem with this office is that the frontline staff , they never mail out or fax our prescriptions or referrals on a timely manner. I have to constantly call them to follow-up on either my prescriptions or emails. IT'S SO DAMN FRUSTRATING.

Very rude front staff. It is unfortunate that the doctors or management is not taking any action against the staff. Completely lazy and full of attitude. Front staff behaves as if they are surgeons and we are illiterate. No work ethics or etiquettes. I still wonder how so unprofessional people land in Canada. I have no issues with my family doctor- Dr. Rajakumar. She is very helpful and kind and for my doctor I have to tolerate these front staff illiterates.

Very Unprofessional Doctor and Terrible Experience. Raja Kumar License should be cancelled soon. Mostly they are closed and they have no accountability for patients. She will tell receptionist to call patient and suggest for the medicine. she don't speak like to speak to the patient at all. She prescribe wrong medication to the patients and called me from unknown number at 9 pm to go for Blood test and other tests without any reason because I didn't go her office from years as have no health issues. Stay away from this doctor.

I would like to give them “NO STARS” but unfortunately that option is not available. PLEASE DO NOT attend to their clinic. Today my mum had an appointment at 9am. She was waiting for more than two weeks for this. She travelled along with my dad (both are elderly) for almost an hour and reached their clinic by 9.12am. The front staff (heartless people I have ever seen) sent them back stating that they were late and there is a patient inside already. They tried to stay little bit more, to see if they could go in after that patient. But those front staff had told them to book an appointment again which is after two weeks. Do they think this is a joke to see a doctor? This is health-related concern. At least they could have given little priority to their age, but they didn’t. They were so rude, and they think they are DOCTORS. I am just wondering why are they hiring these type of people to an important field like CLINIC. Either change the staff and assign people who are kind-hearted and knows how to treat people gently with care or train your staff NOW and warn them. These staff are not fit for this role. Whoever reads these reviews, please don’t choose your family doctors from here. This situation will come to you one day for sure. Stay alert.

First of all, I totally agree and believe every comment here on the RUDENESS and UNPROFESSIONALISM of the staff in this clinic. If you're suffering from blood pressure-- DO NOT communicate with any of their staff. They are inconsistent, clueless and rude. Their records are not updated and will argue with you instead of being apologetic. I am not sure WHY the authorities of the clinic do not want to screen or change or better train their unprofessional staff. THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER SERVICE STAFF OUT THERE! I come here if only for the niceness of my doctor, for which I attribute the one star I've given. This clinic is relocating to 1333 Kennedy Rd. For those looking to find a new clinic... just keep doing so. FIND ANOTHER OPTION.

The Front Desk Staff requires customer service training as they are VERY RUDE and UNHELPFUL. They should not be employed to deal with sick people as they are despicable and do not know how to communicate with patients whether in-person or on the telephone. They operate as if they are the authority. PLEASE GET THEM SOME TRAINING as this is a necessity, since their lack of compassion and communication will deter patients from going there even though there are excellent doctors at the location.

Contrary to some reviews, staffs and my doctor at this clinic are all amazing, friendly and helpful. Had encountered some mishap too last time but it is understandable given to the nature of their work. There are times that I cannot contact the office as well and holds are longer than usual (I was on hold for at least 10-15 mins) but they are very apologetic and still helpful. I was on hold to other companies for an hour or so, so I guess 10-15 mins is not too bad. After all, there are SIX doctors in the facility (as per on their business card).

My brother and I have been very impressed with the care provided by Dr. Ryan Thomas and the rest of the staff at the Scarborough Academic Family Health Centre. After my brother’s hospitalizations in 2021, we wanted to find a new family doctor who would be the ‘quarterback’ for all my brother’s care needs. As many places were not accepting new patients in Scarborough, we felt fortunate to come across the Scarborough Academic Family Health Centre. When I mentioned to the administrative staff that I have been looking for a doctor for my brother for months, they were extremely supportive and quickly booked my brother to see Dr. Thomas. Given my brother’s complicated medical history, we have been impressed with Dr. Thomas’ abilities to listen to our story, empathize about our situation, and synthesize the information provided. We have also been impressed with his wide breadth of knowledge, inquiry mindset, compassion, competency, and ability to consider all aspects of my brother’s care, including his social service needs. As my brother’s POA and caregiver, Dr. Thomas has also been very inclusive of my involvement from the start. Based on Dr. Thomas’ exceptional care and the friendly and attentive staff at the Scarborough Academic Family Health Centre, we highly recommend Dr. Thomas and this clinic to others. Thanks Dr. Thomas for seeing my brother as a person first, for being my brother’s medical team ‘quarterback’, and for including my brother and me in clinical decisions about his care. You and the rest of the staff have made a very positive impact on our lives. We thank you all for your unwavering support and best practice care.
