Established in 2007 as part of a larger effort to breathe new life into our inner city, the Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre is a not-for-profit organization here to equip employers with skilled workers and equip adults with the skills and jobs they need to start a rewarding career. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The class applied for had 16 openings, they accepted 230 for the orientation...Quite frustrating they would accept that many applicants raising a couple hundred individuals hope when so few positions were available. So many waiting, they actually forgot about 2 ladies and were ready to leave for the day, while the 2 ladies sat waiting for their interview, both scheduled for hours earlier! Gong show!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would not allow me into the orientation with my infant who was sleeping. However allowed a group of 2-3 year olds to run around making a tremendous amount of noise!!
The individual (I can not pronounce his name) made me think that I was not welcome because I am a single parent! They like to offer courses not to the general public but rather only those under 30 years of age so if your older you are SOL!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I applied for the construction course, got interviewed never heard back even when I emailed and asked. The ladies that interviewed me made it sound like I was worthless. Repeatedly ask how come I wasn’t applying for a certain job and I told them I’m having a hard time getting hired because most companies prefer men and not women.
