★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t go when it is too hot out. Nearly every animal was in their burrow/den staying out of the heat. There were also quite a few exhibits closed for maintenance.
It was just so so. I think it would be better if everything was open. However just go in with proper expectations…this doesn’t have Vancouver or Toronto level exhibits.

There weren’t many animals out, which obviously isn’t the zookeepers fault, my only complaint is that there was literally no one to take care of tickets. We waited for awhile but nobody was there, we just put some money down and walked in. It seems like a well meaning zoo, but it’s a bit run down. The animals all seemed to be taken care of, though!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a fun time no matter how old you are. Definitely best to go on a cooler, somewhat cloudy day for the animals to be out and about. Lots of fun with a little one for them explore and learn. They have good prices for the cafe food and snacks as well. Overall, I've gone over five times now and have enjoyed it each time. Plan to be a couple hours to just wonder around looking at everything.
