Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church

The church and the beautiful belives are certainly loved and respected. The problem is the strange FATHER of this church. He is not a real clergy or a spritual person. He hides behind the respectful image of the church for feeding his inner needs. People like him are the reason why the beauty of religion gets damaged. He is an actor.

The church is beautifully maintained by the priest, and the greenery around the church enhances the feeling of being closer to nature. When the mood strikes them, certain individuals vandalize the property and run harassment campaigns, which forces the church goers to work even harder to keep the property at their highest standards.

I have to say after reading all the negative reviews, that they were written by NON - Christian Orthodox People. I am a Christian Orthodox who attends regular services at this church. The Father is very humble, nice and kind. He has a beautiful family and is very respected among the Christian Orthodox community. I feel very sad that people who have nothing to do with our church /community write reviews like that. I am wishing to all of them to discover our true GOD. John 15:21 But they will treat you like this on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

Don't be fooled with the priest! There is absolutely no hatered about religion or the church at all. There are several churches in the neighborhood and they are being loved and respected. It is not about the church or the belief. They are amazing and we'll respected. The complain is about the priest that is running this particular church. He is a sick and mentally unstable individua. He is a real abuser of his position. He enjoys bothering people. No one in the neighborhood is happy with this sick man. Just talk to people to see for yourself. One of the top missions of the church is to spread love. Why the priest of this church is full of hate and why he bothers everyone in the neighborhood? Why do you let someone like thistguy th steal the trust of the pure souls who get together for practicing something beautiful? Instead of playing innocent, why don't you talk to this man to start behaving, or just kick him out and bring a real humble human being to serve in the church? So many have stopped going to the church because of this unbalanced guy. He should not hijack this place of worship!

I am so grateful for the peaceful and friendly atmosphere that the priest of this church maintains by guiding people, praying for them and with them. He unites believers not just on Sundays, but in a daily life as well, as he organizes many trips and activities so that people can get together, know each other and make friends. Do not judge this church by reading all the negative comments. Come for a service, have a cup of tea after, and you will feel the love and care of everyone here.

I wish there was a zero rating. The priest of this church has a thirst for bothering people specifically neighbors... here is the story: I leave a couple houses down the street, the other night he left his radio playing on very loud voice for more than 3 hours until 10 pm in the yard unattended. I even went to the door, knocked, rang the bell and no answer. I couldn't sleep as it was so loud until he turned it off. Why would someone do that to neighbors?! By the way I reported the incident to the city, next time will be the police! Also just browsing in the reviews, I see the guy has bullied others and other complaints about his radio noise as well.

This priest attacked the neighbor's wife on a parking dispute back in 2019 (the priest owns four cars and almost always blocks the back alley with one of those four, while he parked the other three in various places on the block). The incident was reported to VPD. VPD was at the scene for over three hours and, after filing a report, gave a warning to the priest not to approach the neighbor ever again and advised the neighbor that if the priest approached them, they should call VPD immediately.

Let me start by saying I have tremendous respect for anyone's believes and places of worship, including this church. My review is about how this church is being operated and how it affects the lives of several neighbors. The priest has issues with all the neighbors that I have talked with about this matter. This is even for the one who used to go to this church and then stopped going to the church years ago due to the priest's behavior. Let me list a few problems this guy makes for neighbors, with the hope that those who go to this holy place for their faith, belief, and soul (all very dear and respectful as is any faith) perhaps read this and have an honest conversation around this. Also, please read the other reviews from the neighbors over the last few years. 1. This priest attacked the neighbor's wife on a parking dispute back in 2019 (the priest owns four cars and almost always blocks the back alley with one of those four, while he parked the other three in various places on the block). The incident was reported to VPD. VPD was at the scene for over three hours and, after filing a report, gave a warning to the priest not to approach the neighbor ever again and advised the neighbor that if the priest approached them, they should call VPD immediately. 2. He has so many cameras around the church, many of those pointing to the neighbors' houses. At least three of the neighbors have reported this to the church, but no adjustment was ever made. Imagine this situation for your own house to realize how creepy this can be! 3. He has sensor lights that are always left ON at night and brighten the neighbors' houses. Two of the neighbors have already brought this up to the church. The exact word of the priest to one of them was "I don't care!" 4. Every single time there is snow out there, he shovels the snow completely and purposely to the front of the neighbors' parking. Over the years, there have been numerous disputes with him, but he clearly repeats that by purpose. 5. He plays LOUD radio music in his yard for many hours and even leaves it ON at past 10 pm in summer. Last summer, eight neighbors (even those that live a few houses apart from the church) got so upset about this behavior that they collectively reported the incident to the City of Vancouver. A week later, this behavior stopped, but three weeks later, it restarted. So frustrating!
