β β β β β I have been in the Emergency department and had some tests done as well as a surgery. All the staff were super nice and really calm in helping me. Of course the ER has wait times but this is like so everywhere in the world for public hospitals. I really appreciate the work that all the staff do and I was really treated with respect.

I came here covered in blood sweat and tears from trying to commit, and they sent me home two hours later with nothing. Absolutely nothing. They kept me locked in a plain white room the entire time. I had an evaluation but it was more like an interview. Very anxiety inducing⦠not to mention they sent me home by myself at 2 AM to WALK home. on a very busy street. After I tried to commit. that is a very big issue to me.
because of this experience, I will never go here again for any of my health care needs. I will drive to Toronto if I need medical support even though I live directly across the street.
this is happened to a few people that I know as well.
Not to mention, the triage nurses and everyone else I had to speak to was extremely (understandably) tired, but I could tell because they were very crabby and rude.
The only nice nurse was the one who delivered snacks to my room that I was locked in.
I would not make this review if it wasnβt for the other horrible past experiences Iβve had at this hospital. This was the last straw. iβm a nice person and I hate saying bad things about people/places but I need to save other people the trouble of going here for SERIOUS needs like this.

β β β β β My hospital experience was beyond excellent. The nurses and staff are very kind and full of compassion. The Dr and nurses that operated on me made feel soo at ease. The meals that I had , tasted really really good. Overall I think the RVH has the well being of its patients as priority number 1. Thank you to ALL for everything.

β β β β β I have been there twice this week and I'm impressed by how friendly the nurses are even when they are short staffed. I spent 7hrs in the ER and yes after some time it gets a bit boring but compared to Toronto it's a good hospital. I had another appointment for an ultrasound the next day. When I arrived it turned out that the date was wrong. My appointment was a day later than I thought. However nurse Catherine ( I hope it's the right spelling) at the ultrasound reception was really kind and manage to get me in.

β β β β β I took my wife to the emergency department as she was having difficulty breathing. we did a rapid test on the 24th of Dec. which was negative. Dr. GRANT in emergency told us that her lungs were clear. it is an upper respiratory issue and that we had a hospital at home so go home and visit them for further testing as he would do no more for her as they where over booked and asked us to leave. he was a rude person with no compassion. when I spoke with the security guard and nurse they both agreed without saying this is normal for this doctor as they would not disagree with me. I understand that all hospitals are busy but you can't visit a hospital unless it is in your home town? this doctor needs his license suspended for playing god!

β β β β β What an incredible hospital. The team of Doctors they have are very dedicated and determined for you to have the best experience even when your very ill. I was in ICU for a night after a devastating abdominal bleed and I never questioned their ability. Along with the doctors the nursing staff are top notch. Then I was moved to the stroke unit so I could have blood work in the morning and the staff there could not have been more helpful. Thank you to all the staff for putting my faith back in health care.

But I would love to appreciate the efforts of all the health workers serving us. ??????
RVH as the only hospital in Barrie..they are trying to match up and serving in this pandemic, our baby was in NICU and they took really good care all the staff were so co operative (some exceptions so less 1 star)

β β β β β It's always orderly, clean and quiet. There are many masks and sanitizers for visitors. It's biggest hospital in Simcoe. It's just beside highway 400#, very convenient location.
