Corruption at it's finest. The RCMP of Quesnel are literally just a huge joke. Crime is out of control in Quesnel, and only getting worse day by day. NOTHING is done by this group of supposed crime fighters. Thieves and drug dealers run this town freely, and take full advantage of the horrible, lazy ethics of the RCMP. Prevention is your ONLY chance here, unless by some miracle we can acquire a whole new, actual working force here. I've never been so let down by a group of people before. You are not safe here. Ever.

What I had to deal with today could accurately be described as "gross incompetence" on the part of two Quesnel RCMP officers. I have an unwelcome guest in my house who had to be escorted off the premises last night after we got into a fight when he refused to leave after being told he could not stay here. He was allowed to come back today. I have a text file from the guy in my house attempting to provoke me to fight him last night after he had been escorted away from my house. That is also on record. I called it in last night. I already have gotten in a fight with this guy a couple of hours before that. The police know all this. He is still in my house and I want him out. The police want me to call some agency that is not open until Monday! The details of his being here and of what I can do about that are too much to go into and wouldn't add much to the story. What is relevant here is what the police who were called here this morning did when they were leaving. Knowing that the situation is volatile and has the potential to become more so, they refused to witness a simple verbal agreement between myself and the person who needs to leave my house, regarding how soon he agreed to get out. The officers who figured they were done here and were leaving at the time said "that's not our responsibility" and drove off. If their job is to keep the peace and they refused to do something that would take zero effort and only a moment more of their time, something that has the potential to help keep the lid on a volatile situation, then they are just plain irresponsible and negligent in their sworn duty to keep the peace. The truth is any citizen can witness a verbal agreement. Police officers are, for some bizarre reason, usually considered to be more "credible" in such a role. It's not like they were being asked to come to the house to witness an agreement. They were here already, they were familiar with the situation, they knew it is volatile and growing worse, and yet they refused to take an extra minute or two out of their day to perform such a simple function. When I called in to make a formal complaint about this I was told I need to talk to some guy who is not on duty today. So it looks like I can’t even properly lodge my complaint about these officers poor performance of their duty until after the weekend. Legal disclaimer. All of the above remarks about gross incompetence, negligence etc are just my opinion, but it has been toned down considerably from what I would really like to say about these idiots. They have left me a a situation that is more stressful and with more potential to go wrong than it would have been if they had agreed to one simple request that would have taken a trivial amount of time and effort on their part. These officers did succeed in one thing. They added considerably to the level of anger that I was already feeling before they came to my house. Great job guys!. Update: The police had to come to my house again today. In order to be fair I have to say they handled the situation much better than the officers who were here on Saturday. In fact they did quite well considering I was angry when I was talking with them and telling them what I thought of the last two officers that were here. After the weekend had passed I was able to contact the tenancy board and get a clear answer on the legal situation regarding my rights in getting this person out of my house. Turns out I was right and the police officers from Saturday were wrong all along. I do not need to give this guy in my house any eviction notice or extra time. He simply needs to leave. As it was getting late in the day I reluctantly agreed to let this guy stay the night on the condition that he leave the next day. He HAS agreed to leave within 24hrs and the officers on the scene witnessed this. He is actually packing his things this time so (fingers crossed) it looks like my problem is solved. I said to the one officer who stayed and talked with me briefly "I hope I don't need to call you guys again tomorrow". He said "I understand".
