We have some friends that recently moved here from Europe with their very young children. Over the Christmas holidays they were pulled over by the Cochrane R.C.M.P. and the wife who was driving at the time, was given a breathalyzer. She blew under the legal limit of .08. The R.C.M.P. officer who pulled them over was, Constable Michael Warman, and he treated them so atrocious that I had to write this post. Constable Michael Warman (Badge number 54653) made them stand outside of their vehicle for an excessive amount of time in the freezing cold when they did not have appropriate shoes or clothing on. When the husband asked, if he and his wife could go back into the vehicle, Constable Warman, began swearing at him, and then lunged at him, trying to engage him into a fight. This behavior is very typical of abusive and violent police officers who are abusing their powers, and have no place in society, let alone working in the police. These friends of ours, are some of the most polite people we have ever met. The husband is only about 5'6" and small boned, and was extremely scared for himself and his wife. Can you imagine a police officer wanting to beat the hell out of a man for just for asking a question, especially in front of his wife????? Our friends, made us aware of this situation, since my husband works in professional standards for the Calgary Police Service. And although, my husband urged them to make a complainant, they were both too intimated by this R.C.M.P officer, and feel the R.C.M.P. must be completely corrupt for having officers like him. Unfortunately, they were not wrong in their conclusion. I contacted Constable Michael Warman, as I was so upset about his interaction with our friends, but like the coward he is, he did not return my call. I would like to ask constable Michael Warman how would he feel if his wife, daughter/son or even his parents were treated like this by a police officer that pulled them over?????? I urge anyone with complainants about the R.C.M.P or the Calgary Police Service to make a formal complaint AND, most importantly, put a Google review up with the full name of the officer. Unfortunately, the complaint process with the R.C.M.P., and the Calgary Police Service, is just a process to appease the public, and these horrendous officers are rarely held accountable for their behavior and actions against the public. The most unfortunate thing is, the public cannot trust the R.C.M.P., to do their job with integrity and decency, which has resulted in a complete loss of public confidence.

Whichever officer who was riding the black ford ghost unmarked truck on Sunday May 19th, around 1445-1515. Doing uturns into oncoming traffic, probably not a good idea. Why? Just to fill their quota? Don't go fishing out for quota, catch those who are actually breaking the law. Some officer needs to get off their high horse and do your job properly.

I needed a vulnerable sector check for a job, went and got it for 25$ on card, along with several other Southland drivers, three of which who "happened" to have the same birthday as someone who had a "criminal record" (it could be as simple as a DUI or a parking ticket) had to pay for finger prints to be done, by paying 50$ CASH up front, no exceptions, even after they payed for the intial test with card? If that doesnt sound like a shake down, I dont know what does. Front desk people were very rude to all. Fiance is in training to join the RCMP and well be moving town to a better office for sure.

My pregnant wife was being aggressively tailgated through a school zone (30km/hr) she pulled over and verbalized that she was going the speed limit and said said she was pregnant and so the occupants verbally accosted her and tried to intimidate and threaten her by parking their vehicle on the other side of the street and stare at her. She immediately phoned the RCMP and no one showed up after 20 mins and then she received a call from the joke of a law enforcement office stating that since she got out of her car and had a verbal altercation with them that the laws they broke by following to close and speeding no longer apply. Good to know that's how I can get out of a ticket, I'll speed and then just yell at someone and it'll be thrown out. What a joke, you should be ashamed to wear a badge.

- Gives you $400.00 worth of tickets in an empty construction zone, which you paid. And by empty... I mean one sign, no lane changes, no construction workers, and one car (me). I slowed down for the zone, but just forgot I was in one... as my speed slowly climbed back up, the officer was there waiting in his nice little honey-spot. - 8 months later - officer(s) won't collaborate with Calgary Police Service when your stolen vehicle is found in their jurisdiction or make any effort to fingerprint the car or collect drug paraphenalia left in the car. - Priceless. P.S. I visited the detachment twice to enquire, then complain. The two people who helped me at the front desk in each instance were friendly, helpful and sympathetic. Thank you both!! You'd have 5 stars if this was just about you.

I had a simple complaint that I almost didn't even think was worth the RCMP's time. I called in and they took notes, advised me that an officer would be getting back to me shortly. I got a call back before I had even gone upstairs to put my phone down. The officer asked for some details of the situation and was able to stop by. He was at my home in less than 5 minutes (possibly less then 3, but I wasn't counting). He made me feel listened to and was very professional. He agreed that what was done was wrong, but that it wasn't big enough to pursue anything major for. I had assumed as much, but he described it to a tee and really reassured me of a realistic outcome to the issue. He said he would be contacting the other party so that they understood what they did was wrong. He even went so far as to ask what the result I wanted from the issue was. I think there are a lot of customer service people out there that could take some training from this Constable. A fine example of what a member of the RCMP should be. Thank you!!!

I was making my way home last night after a 20 hour work day, ~3:45am. Heading east on 1A into Cochrane. An officer saw that I had turned from a range road a ways back, so upon catching up to me, he put his lights on, and I pulled over. After approaching the vehicle at the appropriate 6 foot distance, he told me that he noticed I was coming from a particular range road, and asked if I could tell him what I was up to, up there. After explaining I was heading home after a long work day, he checked my I.D without returning to his vehicle. Simply asked me to get home safe, and to have a good night. I appreciated the professionalism of the officer, and felt that it was a community welfare check, rather than a hassle. It was a strange time to be on the road, and you never know what people could be getting into. Thanks for that!

Not helpful and overall aggressive. RCMP station is located on a street where the speed limit is 30km/hr and I constantly see marked RCMP vehicles exceeding that limit on their way back to the detachment. These officers are above the law.
