★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most iconic structures and government owned business in Canada. The coins that they design are rated as the best in the world. Sadly some of the coins are priced too high making it out of reach of most collectors. They also provide large discounts to volume buyers or people with deep pockets, while leaving the smaller fish or people who can only set aside a small amout to fend for themselves at regular price with no discount at all. Not fair, especially for the fact that we are in Canada where supposedly equal rights prevail, or at least are existint on paper. RCM if you read this please review your policies, provide a fair and level playing field for all to do business in fairly, with no special treatment to some, while ignoring the others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time here and went on the tour and the guide Lisa(?) is fabulous. Insider stories and histories made the factory far more interesting than expected. Before arrival, the website indicated there’re only virtual tours (Covid) but as things are opening up I called to double check. Good thing I did because in person tours are back up but the time I want to go on is full. So I registered on phone for an afternoon one. There are young kids along and Lisa kept them engaged and watched out for everyone’s safety. Got a lovely Winnipeg souvenir from here.
