In return for performing a concert for their residents, I was given a room and meals for the duration of my stay in Kelowna. The staff were kind, the meals good, the over-all hospitality was great. Many thanks to Rose Cottage for the memories.

There is always more to the story. Kathy truly cares and goes way above and beyond. Every holiday she spends hours decorating so that the residents enjoy them more....mostly on her own days off... She has cared for special needs children in the past and now, seniors for many years. Saying that the residents are fed Kraft dinner as if that is the extent of the meals there is just untrue. Grossly untrue. I can say this all with confidence, as I have worked with her in the past and still visit to this day. If my mother had needed to move into a Supportive care home, I would have had NO Hesitation with having my Mom in her care. I know she would have been safe and well-cared for. The families of past clients still keep in contact with her and some even attend the yearly Christmas party. Kathy has countless recommendations that she can supply. If you want the truth about a Care Home, you should talk to the community Care Aides that frequent the house or visit the house and talk to the manager. If your parent is in the hospital, talk to the Transition nurse for recommendations.... If you do some research, which you would do anyway to find a suitable place for your loved one, you will find that MY review is true.
S	Stu Morse on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 92, my 96 yr old father in-law has been a resident of the Rose Cottage for past 2 years. During this time his family has felt that he was receiving adequate care from the limited staff. However red flags began to pop up when it took 8 months to repair a lift chair necessary to safely transport many of the elderly, disabled residents up the long staircase from the first to second floor of the facility. As with most Alzheimer's patients it becomes increasingly difficult to care for them, but we were assured by the staff that they were capable of providing my father in-law with the care that we expected, while waiting for a move into a full care facility. However, when the staff realized that they could no longer provide him with the necessary care, they served my mother-in-law with a 2 week eviction notice. Yes 2 weeks, which subsequently caused the Regional Health system to get involved and find a solution on short notice. Furthermore, after evicting my father in-law, the owner of the Rose Cottage felt that it was their right to keep the damage deposit for wear and tare on the facility, which was poorly maintained to begin with. This unreasonableness has caused our family to pursue the matter legally. I noticed that the 5 star review is from an employee or close friend of an employee. I suggest that Yvonne takes the rose cottage glasses off as I haven't talked about the food or other more serious concerns I'm aware of!
