About Roma Catering Services & Romano's Restaurant
As a young boy in the 1940’s, Romano Cecchetto had a passion for cooking and creating new and exciting ways for preparing food. His talent was well known and in 1969 that talent was put to use when Romano and his wife Antonietta Cecchetto started catering small functions for the local Italian community. Romano and Antonietta worked full-time in their respective jobs while catering on the weekends, sometimes working through the night to prepare for the next’s days event. It wasn’t long before the Calgary based catering company that started out small flourished and grew into a full- time business known as Roma Catering.
Their son Carlo Cecchetto joined the business early on in his life as he shared the same passion and talent as his parents. He went on to attend SAIT to become a Chef as did his sister, Angela. In 1988 Carlo took over majority of the company and together with his sisters Angela and Laura, his wife Franca, and the wisdom of Romano and Antonietta, Carlo moved the catering company forward.

The food here is incredible and the staff went above and beyond during delivery, helping ensure we had everything needed to enjoy our meal, including perfectly paired Prosecco. The tiramisu is also delicious, so save room for dessert!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as we tasted the food at Roma Catering, we knew they would be our wedding caterer! Danny was so amazing to work with. Overall the food and bartending was amazing, but there were some little nuisances that could have made our experience that much better, such as: previously deciding the head table would be served, but not being served on our wedding day; no cutlery/glasses on the head table; no plates for wedding cake; no labels for the buffet to tell people what the food was. The food and drinks were delicious, but the small details got lost in the mix.

We had a small family gathering but we were treated like their largest client. The meal was prepared on time and it was a great feast! It was our second year with Roma’s at Christmas and the family is ready for the next one. Thanks to all the Roma’s staff for making our gathering memorable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered the Easter Dinner Special for 6 people. My husband went to pick it up and it was ready and packaged nicely. The food had to be split and sent to 3 homes but it was not an issue as the portions were sizeable. There was plenty of food and it was all delicious. Everyone made a comment to me about how everything was so good. Even an Easter card was included. A big thank you to Roma Catering for such an enjoyable Easter dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Roma catering is amazing. The staff are all so friendly. We had the prime rib dinner for 6 for new years eve and it was just as delicious as the year before. Excellent sized portions and high quality ingredients, the prime rib was cooked perfectly medium rare throughout, and incredibly tender, despite keeping it warm for an hour before serving. Topped off with a great cake for desert. Highly recommend. If I had one suggestion it would be a few more grilled veggies.
Their frozen lasagnas are also amazing, make sure you always have one on hand for entertaining or an easy weeknight meal.
