About Rolling Hills Golf & Country Club
Established in 1939, Rolling Hills is a small, vibrant community located in the southernmost portion of the County of Newell. Bordered on the south by the Bow River and surrounded by short grass prairie lands, the area is an oasis of agricultural bounty.
Designated as a re-settlement area for drought-stricken Saskatchewan farmers in the late 1930s, the location has access to irrigation water flowing from the producer owned Eastern Irrigation District. Blessed with abundant sunshine and a long growing season, we are able to raise a wide and ever-changing variety of agricultural products that find markets worldwide.
The hamlet of Rolling Hills and its surrounding district has a population of 576 and covers a total area of just under 150,000 acres with approximately 40,000 acres irrigated. The geographical boundaries lie within County of Newell Division 1 for municipal purposes and Eastern Irrigation District Division 7 for matters involving irrigation and reservoirs.
The hamlet and rural area are served by a large, modern, multi-room community centre, full size ice arena, excellent 9-hole golf course, serviced campground, ECS to Grade 9 school, two churches, an active seniors' centre, full service post office, recycling transfer depot, fitness gym and a fully equipped volunteer fire department.
