★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have often driven by the signs for the dam tours and pass right by. Finally decided to stop and check it out.
Firstly we had no issues with security. They only needed one ID (drivers license) and it was no hassle (I am brown and have an epic beard).
You have the option of a self guided tour or a free guided tour with entry (call ahead for times). We opted for the guided tour and then explored on our own after.
The facility is really cool and the access is pretty awesome. The guided tour was very informative and we learned a lot. The guide was eager to answer any questions we had. The kids especially loved going into the dam and up the elevator to the top. The science experiments and displays dealing with electricity were a lot of fun!
We totally recommend this tour. It's great for everyone!
