Remitall Farms Inc - Olds

Remitall Farms Inc. stemmed from Remitall Cattle Company which was established in the 1940s and was owned and operated by Louis and Jean Latimer and their children. The operation was known worldwide for their Shorthorn and Polled Hereford herds. Sons Gary (and wife Jacci) and Bryan were instrumental in the success of the family business.

In 1977, Remitall's Angus venture began with a junior Angus project for Louis and Jean's youngest daughter, Elaine. It was successful enough to put her through university and Remitall has been hooked on Angus ever since.

In the early 80s the next generation (Michael, Richard, Jeff and Sara) were eager to participate in the farming operation. Their interest in marketing and promotion of the cattle at various shows, as well as Louis, Gary and Bryan seeing a bright future in the Angus breed, resulted in the expansion of the Angus division at Remitall Cattle Co.

By 2008, the Remitall Angus program had grown into one of Canada's top 10 largest purebred herds.

In 2009, Gary and Jacci, along with son, Richard and his wife Kelly and children Lauren, Louis and Ella, established Remitall Farms Inc. Their goal is to produce and sell top quality Black Angus cattle to other registered Angus breeders and commercial cattle producers.

As reported in The Producer when the family patriach, Louis Latimer, was inducted into the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame, the Latimer family participates fully on the farm and at the shows.
