★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After moving to Sarnia in early 1982 our new family started going to the LCA church in Port Huron. That was a nice church, and people at the border even on occasion allowed us to take a potluck dish with us to church. However, in the end it became inconvenient to go to church "on the other side".
We than looked locally. As today there were to lutheran churches in Sarnia. Christ and Redeemer. Clearly the latter was also the bigger. Initially we were a bit concerned about its connection to the Missouri Synod, but the good pastor explained, that it was the English District of the Synod. We joined the church, and had our two boys baptized there. We also enjoyed many church activities such as the Lutheran Adult Fellowship Group, the pre-Easter communal dinner, and many other get-to-gethers until we left Sarnia in the late 1980's.
When visiting Sarnia since we have always felled welcome at Redeemer, and this Christmas we read about the nativity scene on the internet.
