About Red Deer Primary Care Network

Alberta’s PCNs arose from the 2003 to 2011 trilateral Master Agreement between the Alberta Medical Association (AMA), AH and AHS. Schedule G of the agreement outlined the trilateral Primary Care Initiative and described the formation of local primary care initiatives in which a group of family physicians (in a not-for-profit corporation [NPC]) formed a legal agreement with the regional health authority (now AHS) to provide a set of primary care services targeted to the local needs of a defined population of patients.

Local primary care initiatives were later rebranded as PCNs. The first PCN “went live” in May 2005.

I wish I could have them for long but I have to go to a different place after 6 sessions. I would love to stay and help me.

We were treated with respect, much different from a prior experience with a Neurologist. The Geriatrics team gave us hope that we could live a somewhat normal life - it was encouraging and uplifting.

Despite being a "good" place for help. I have no doubt that they might provide this. That said, it's meant only for people on government assistance or low income. For those who don't have great benefits plans or have full-time work but still don't qualify, have no choice but to go without care that they may actually need or pay huge amounts of money for care elsewhere. That's a fantastic platform to "care" for the community. I'm actually being generous on the star system. Only giving it because it's not the staffs fault. The fault lays squarely on who funds them.

6 to 8 months just to see a Psychiatrist ? How exactly is at helping anybody ? Have discovered that in Alberta psychiatrists rarely take new clients and due to nothing but simple laziness and greed they see very few clients at all because they can pocket so much cash from each patient. I would be curious to find out how many people take their own lives or the lives of others or hurt themselves and others because of this greed and laziness. They should be ashamed to even call themselves doctors. I suppose if you hurt yourself or somebody else and head to the emergency Room they may at some point let you see a psychiatrist.

Asking for help is a hard thing for most of us and the fear of being rejected or worse embarrassed for asking has happened to me personally and I’m sure many others... So when I reached out to The wonderful staff at primary care network I was a bit nervous but had no choice since I was in real need But just walking through the doors the first time I instantly felt comfortable from my first meet to multiple phone calls to in office visits and all the help and knowledge I got it felt nicer and nicer each visit and call. A place and people you look forward to hearing from. Thank you for making me nothing but gratefulness. I appreciate all your team does

Spoke to the receptionist today and she hung up on me because I said it’s great she has excuses… YPI ARE DEALING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND YOU HANG UP??? I’ve left over 4 messages WITH ZERO CALL BACK in two weeks and this is how she treats clients?? And she can live with herself ?? I BEGGED FOR ASSISTANCE. It’s been over 2 weeks zero apology for not getting back to me I will be laying in a complaint.

Told them I needed help asap in June 2021. They asked me if I could use something else in the meantime. I said I could use another service while I waited because they wouldn’t have anything until November. Now it’s February 2022 and they have told me they froze my referral cuz I was able to use something in the mean time. I’m now probably going to have to wait a few more months to get any help. My mental health is not a joke and I’m trying my best, this is why people do what they do instead of reach out. Absolutely pathetic. Update: gave me a phone appointment for two weeks later… no one ever called me even after I confirmed the scheduling 3 hours prior. I’m just disgusted.
