Ray Manor

(2017)Living at Ray Manor, managed by Avenue Living was a nightmare, to put it mildly. I had several MAJOR issues living in this building, a few suites had bed bugs, (thank goodness they never decided to move into my place!),when I moved in, the bathtub was disgusting and in disarray, I was promised that AL would replace my tub right away, they rarely answered my calls and when they actually did, there were always broken promises, but the whole 11 months I lived there(because I eventually broke my lease because of the horrible conditions and it being a very unsafe place to live) they never replaced my tub, nor did they even clean it so it was usable, the first time I poured a bath there were dirty paint chips floating in my bath water,YUCK! It looked like the tub was stained and almost a greyish yellow color, most likely from lack of cleaning it properly, in the livingroom I was told that Red Alert tenants used to live there,caused a flood and the carpet ended up getting ripped out, underneath were wooden planks that were impossible to keep clean and there was even a huge patch of glue on the one huge plank of wood that made my livingroom look disgusting no matter how nice my furniture and decorations were. Then there were my neighbors, oh dear goodness, the neighbors! One assaulted me with a bat and AL and the police did nothing,there were a number of junkies living in the building,tenants were breaking all kinds of rules, including being loud and rambunctious,several neighbors kept asking and using me for money and cigarettes until I found my voice and said NO,my neighbors across from me constantly had very upsetting verbally violent fights and the one night I saved one of the men from what I THEN learned was his boyfriend's cruel/physical violence,the day before I moved out I saw a neighbor across the street hang herself from her balcony,meanwhile my neighbors living next door just made a spektical of her and were entertained by it (same neighbors who assaulted me,used and intimidated me. I'm glad they were making noise because I wouldnt've known she was grave trouble and had I not been there she may not be alive today,there were constant drug deals going on at the entrance doors,guns and other weapons being brought into the building,couples fighting with their sig other's and or their children; it was chaos! And AL did not care, maybe my suite was $650 with the incentives but not at all worth me living in tumultuous conditions. I decided to give AL 2 stars, which is generous, because they actually gave me back my full damage deposit, even though I cleaned the suite as immaculately as possible, but wasn't expecting they would give it back because they were slum lords. I would NEVER rent from Avenue Living, ever again nor suggest them as a potential company to rent from.
