Worth the flies in the forest and effort to climb when you get to the top!

Parking lot is small for the amount of hikers that come here, especially in the fall season. There were four bathrooms at the trailhead. No sanitizer inside them so make sure to bring your own. I arrived at 8:45 am on a weekday and got the last spot in the lot. Was not expecting it to be this busy! Most people parked along the highway and walked into the trailhead.

Beautiful hike, one hour in and out. Snow has fallen and some parts are tricky.

Always love this hike. A bit steep at the beginning so if you do not exercise frequently or climbing one or two flights of steps gets you breathing hard, do not attempt this hike. Once you are over the initial climb it turns into a gentle incline as you move deeper into the Cirque or valley. Midges are by far the worst part of this hike at the moment (July 17), swarms of them everywhere. Once you are nearing the tree line it dissipates significantly. Look forward to squeeky pekas, cascading waterfalls, crystal clear streams, beautiful fauna, and moderate numbers of fellow hikers. No bears this time around and there was a welcome break in the forest fires smoke from BC. This hike is a very high recommend

This is such a beautiful hike. My preschooler was able to do it too. The switchbacks at the beginning were a bit rough (especially with the flies), but it was so worth it. The flies clear out after you finish the switchbacks and get out into the meadow. Beautiful waterfalls. I would love to do this hike again! There are outhouses in the parking lot which is great for taking little kids.

I truly loved this hike. A little bit steep in the beginning but then it was quite stable. Beautiful views of the larches starting turning gold and also there was snow from last night which was amazing ?

Short and very popular family friendly hike from Highwood Pass. Well defined path continue towards another popular hike/scramble to Mt. Rae summit that require a significantly stronger experience and good weather

2020: My family and I did this hike. For us it was one of the more challenging ones, with a 3 and 8 year old. It was steep and longer then we are use to. The views though are gorgeous. Once you make it to the top it's worth the hard work!!
