Keep a copy of everything you sign. Registered our 13 yr. old dancer with 7 years of experience for an Intermediate class for students aged 10-13yrs. Was put in a class with a novice dancer and another child who was 8yrs old. Contacted the owner after the second class and well within their cancellation deadline to withdrawal. Was told (in writing) that they would put us in an Advanced class for 13+ to keep our dancer interested and with students of the same age group, even though it was discussed that our dancer was not advanced. The owner wrote that she would rely solely on the discretion of the Instructor. Our student was assessed by the instructor and was allowed to move classes. They conveniently waited until just after the cutoff deadline and right after they automatically charged our account for another month, to tell us that we could not stay in that class. Told us that our only option was to go back to the class with the 8 yr old and the novice dancer. The receptionist rudely told us this only 2.5hrs before class. They stated that it was the owner's decision and that the Advanced class was an audition only class, and that our student would hold up the others in the class. Clearly, if this was the case, we should have been told immediately upon requesting to withdrawal, and we would have used our last month's fees for October. Instead of being apologetic for misleading us, or clearly making a mistake, we were treated horribly. We believe we were falsely placated as an attempt to keep us from withdrawing, and charged another month's fees. The receptionist also slammed the office door in my face and treated me like garbage in front of my child. Fortunately, we have all of our emails, every conversation taped on my phone, as well as have a copy of my signed contract. The owner ignored several email requests asking her to ensure that they would no longer charge our bank account automatically after we withdrew from the studio. It took a very stern email from my lawyer husband to receive her response just to that part of the issue. By the time we were booted from the class and due to studio closures over Thanksgiving, there were only 4 classes (and the assessment trial class), yet we were charged a total of 3 months of fees = $323.94. Now after complaining to the BBB, the owner has stooped to a new level, claiming harassment and threatening to call the police. This is how they treat their customers. I have also opened a file with Consumer Protection Ontario. Even though CPO's min. dispute value is over $500, they do keep files on companies to track their 'practices' for such issues and complaints with contracts that do not contain all of the proper information as required by law. Definitely a matter of principle to warn others of their business tactics.

I have had two children go through this program. It has taught them so much more than dance , confidence, time management and leadership skills are just a few of the immeasurable qualities that they have been mentored through. They have also made friendships that will last a lifetime , very grateful for this studio.

This dance studio will take extreme measures in order to get as much money out of you as possible. My daughter attended Interplay for a couple of years. They had a "pre-intensive" program for dancers that were allegedly better than recreational dancers, but not quite as good as the "intensive" dancers. This program also required an audition, giving us the impression that it was somewhat elite. It was promised that through the pre-intensive program, that my daughter would be admitted into the intensive program. Throughout the year the teachers were good, and gave the students lots of false hope. However, the teachers would continually tell these students that they were at the same level as the intensive dancers their age, and possibly even better. Then came audition time. The teachers prepped the pre-intensive dancers, and told them that most of them would make it into intensive level 5-6, or possibly even 7-8 (which was the highest level). After the auditions, no one in pre-intensive was admitted to the intensive program despite what the teachers told the students all year. HOWEVER, they did promise once again that if the students attended the "intensive (and very expensive) summer intensive" then they would be admitted into the intensive program. My daughter and some of her friends attended this very very pricey intensive, and at the end of it? They were still not admitted into the intensive program! So we decided not to return to this establishment, as the pre-intensive program was not keeping my daughter interested, and she was also disappointed from all the false hope that the teachers had given. A few weeks after we left when it was obvious that we would not return, I received a call that - wow - my daughter was admitted to the intensive program after all, but she had to take a few pre-intensive classes on the side (with an addition fee, of course). After this year of the intensive program, my daughter returned to the summer dance camp where they would be assessed as to whether or not they would make the "elite" company. After this summer program was over, she was informed that she did not make the company and was the only individual there that did not make it. Of course, she was encouraged to keep trying and - maybe - she would be let in the next year. Needless to say, we did not return! This establishment plays favourites, and will do anything to extract as much money from you as possible. Although some of the teachers were very nice, the owner is not.

One of the best dance studios in the GTA. Interplay has some of the most experienced, and qualified teachers who truly care for their students. I danced at Interplay for 10yrs and it was the best years of my life, I met the most amazing group of friends who I still keep in contact with. It is such a beautiful facility and every staff member and dancer at the studio are so wonderful.

I love dancing at Interplay! The teachers are super supportive and helpful. They give me great instructions to help me to become a better dancer and they have helped me become more flexible. The corrections are given in a positive way. I go to class 3 days a week and it’s my favorite part of my day!! I have been a dancer for almost 10 years and with Interplay for 4 years. I’m part of the Intensive program and an apprentice in the company. My favorite class is ballet and I also love my jazz, lyrical and pointe classes. I am looking forward to doing my first solo as part of my apprentice program with the Company. I love dancing with my friends at Interplay!!!

Our daughter has been with a few dance studios in Toronto, including the national Ballet School's professional program, where upon leaving, Interplay was recommended to us. She's now been with Interplay about 4 years and we couldn't be happier. The staff are deeply devoted to the students, and their ambitions are to be the best. The attention and care they've given us has been outstanding, caring for the students emotionally as young artists, as well as technically. The school's artistic vision is sophisticated and high-minded, while remaining inclusive. The environment is relaxed socially, and we've always felt welcomed. But, when it comes to work, Interplay is definitely a serious dance school where young dancers can prepare for a career in dance, receiving solid fundamentals in technique as well as artistic expression. They can work hard and be fully supported by the staff. The shows put on by Interplay are as enjoyable as they are professionally substantial. I definitely recommend this school to anyone seeking a top-notch training in a very inclusive and balanced social setting.

I am so happy with PSB & Interplay Dance Academy. My daughter attended at the school for 8 years and had the best experience ever. She was well trained by amazing teachers that are so qualified, but also teachers that really took her training seriously. They cared not only about her training but also about her as an individual. She could talk to her teachers and felt that they really cared about her. They supported her with school functions and even professional auditions. Mrs. Karen, Mrs Lucie and Mrs Faye are incredible people that I have grown to respect immensely. Both of my nieces are also registered and are as happy with the school as I am. If you are looking for a good place to register your child for dance I strongly recommend PSB & Interplay Dance.

33 years of experience and incredible training to many students. The school is highly recommended by creditable professional dance and art schools. The teachers and owner are very caring people and wish the best for all dancers and their future in this beautiful art. Excellent school and I highly recommend it.
