Carola the owner of ProHorse grew up in a little town in the middle of Germany. Her family was not from a horse background, though she was lucky enough to have a friend who owned horses growing up. From a young age, Carola was in awe of horses. At 7 years old, Carola’s mother gave in and enrolled her in riding lessons. Starting in dressage and jumping, Carola had been bitten by the horse bug. She eventually moved into a western saddle. “I remember the first time I sat in a Western Saddle. I fell in love and switched to Western Riding. I took lessons and started reading about it. I rode lots of horses from people that didn’t have time to do it and learned a lot.”

Carola was first introduced to liberty training while dealing with a difficult mare that she didn’t know how to work with. “I met a fantastic natural horsemanship/liberty trainer through a horse I was leasing when I was a teenager. That mare wouldn’t let me touch her and tried to kick and bite as soon as I came closer. I asked Conny Felizak (cfwesterntraining.de) to help me. Ever since the day she came out to work with that mare I knew training was my calling. I started working for Conny for several years and helped her with breaking colts, training difficult horses and learned her method and liberty techniques. I bought the mare Conny helped me with and passed two Western Riding Certificates with her.“ Conny learned from a Trainer named Thomas Guenther who trains under ProRide (pro-ride.net) in Germany. “Thomas inspires me a lot and I am still learning from his Online School where I religiously watch all his videos.” ​

In 2014, Carola moved to Canada. Starting on Vancouver Island and going all the way to Quebec and back in just her first year, where she worked for Guest Ranches, Reining Stables, Feedlots, Cattle Ranches and many other horse related jobs. “I became a Guest Ranch Manager and made sure all the horses are safe for beginners and started horses to become dude horses for the next season. I became a better rider while I was working for Wendy Nelson Reining and Performance Horses in Cochrane, AB. She is one of the best horse women I know and I’ve learned so much from her. I can proudly say she became a good friend and an awesome mentor I still ask for advice from”
