J	J Droz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 100% worth the trip. The Staff are amazing and very Friendly, especially the cute puppy. The rock field is amazing with awesome finds. The Shop has so much variety in gems, rocks and fossils. Definitely made our Bancroft Holiday that much more enjoyable by stopping in here!

It overall was an okay experience, some cool rocks, mainly just pit rocks though, expected it to be more of a quarry but basically just a 40 by 20 foot fenced in area. The lady at the desk was very nice but the gentlemen (owner) was very rude. Telling us to not look at our rocks in the store (we were doing this to make sure what we had was what we wanted before we paid) and (“that’s what the buckets are for outside”). He also counted down the minutes for the store closing even when we we waiting in line to pay. The gems inside the store were very expensive. The biggest thing I noticed being first time goers was there is no direction you’re kind of just standing around not knowing what to do and when you ask you’re treated like you should already know where to go. Probably won’t go back but was an okay experience for one time.
A	Aileen Stoyanis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The kids had a great time. Took chisels and hammers and a pail. They weigh your bucket and that's what you pay. Lots of crystals. The lady at the souvenir shop was very helpfull. Really had a good time. It's outside and gets the kids outside.

Please wear solid shoes in the field. It's not an easy trek. Don't worry what they are. Gather and enjoy! May 23 2022 back again like a bad penny! The selection is even better now. There is a new associate who is very knowledgeable, diagnosing one of my cutesy rocks as black tourmaline.. Who knew?
F	F B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came a long way to visit. Met Sonja who was very nice and her puppy.. Beautiful gift shop and a fun experience digging for gems. Wear boots and glasses. Great for kids too. A must when visiting or driving thru area.❤
L	Lewelyn Lee on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic adventure! We took our kids (12,9,5) here for the first time to rock hound. We found so many amazing rocks and minerals. Even if you came without any tools, you could just find a spot and turn over rocks until you came across smaller pieces that were chipped off larger ones. It is a must to wear closed toed and heeled shoes - ie no crocs! Otherwise you will be turned away. A hat and water is also a must as it can get very hot under the sun! There are some shady spots as well that you can work in. The best part is that you don’t have any admission fees to pay and only pay $2/lb for what you find. We were careful not to take large chunks and paid only $6 for our haul. Great way to introduce kids to rocks and minerals. We found socialite, appatite, amethyst (brought in from Thunder Bay), lots of quarts, mica and pyrite. I’m addition, there’s also a shop where you can buy all sorts of things like, rocks of course, smudge sticks, etc.

They have some good fine crystal in store ??but you can also enjoy the process of digging rocks. (it's a unique way to destress as well. ??‍♀️⚒️???) PS. They only provide you a bucket, you need to bring your own hammer and safety goggles. The most important requirement is footwear. COMPLETELY ENCLOSED FOOTWEAR IS REQUIRED. No sandals, flip-flops, crocks or any footwear that is not completely enclosed will be allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS.

We spent several hours hunting for rocks and minerals and left with about 15lbs worth. I felt like they were reasonably priced at $2/lb considering the free admission. We bought a hammer with us but would have found lots without any tools. My only mistake was wearing regular running shoes - you definitely need something thick soled with good grip - it's a bit unsteady to walk on.
