Preston Park Retirement Residence - Saskatoon

We were always aprehensive about making a move as we felt would miss our home, we are still very active but yard maitenance and home repairs were getting more diffucult to do on our own. We have not regretted our decision in making our move to Preston Park! We have dailiy activities and socialization which we would not have had during this time if we were still in our old home. I thought I would miss cooking but the meals are great and I am still able to bake in the Multi Purpose room kitchen when I feel like doing some baking. All of the staff is kind and cheerful and our time here has just flown by!

I've just had the pleasure of spending 4 weeks at Preston Park I as a nurse companion with one of the residents. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful interior with surprising ammenities such as an indoor swimming pool, two libraries, hairdresser and beautician room to name a few. I found the meals to be exceptional by institutional standards with every meal served with very polite and accommodating staff. Each meal is a dining experience with choices and linens. The activity staff are so upbeat and there is always something to do if you choose to partake. Every staff member that I met was more than willing to go the extra mile to make the residents feel like they are in their own home. I found the complimentary car and bus service helpful. Overall, I would highly recommend this facility and would have no qualms at all placing my loved ones in Preston Park.

UPDATE: recently, my mother has passed away. Preston Park 1 made my mom’s wish to stay at home possible. Kelly’s team of Care Aids and RNs have been so kind, caring and professional towards my mother and provided her the additional care she needed in order to allow us to grant her this wish. I am very grateful to Preston Park 1 (including Jody, Kristen, Kelly and all of the staff) for treating my mom with dignity, respect, and compassion at the end of her life. I would highly recommend Preston Park 1 Pam ———————— My mom was recovering from cancer surgery and deemed at risk to live independently. Preston Park 1 has helped establish a new home for my mom that is safe and enriched. I no longer need to worry that her needs are not being met. We have introduced services to assist in her daily life. Slowly she is becoming accustomed to living here and the services are slowly being withdrawn as she gets back to doing things on her own. It is reassuring to me that help just down the hall if my mom requires it. Thank you for maintaining a quality of life for my mom. Pam

I have been a resident at Preston Park for six months and know that I have made a good decision to make my home here. The facilities are modern, well kept and offer a pleasant place to live. The staff and management are friendly and caring. They call you by name and are truly interested in you and your well being. The meals offer a nice variety and almost always provide you with a choice of meals at Lunch and Dinner. The activities are plentiful, varied and fun. Preston Park 1 is a wonderful place to live. If you’re considering a move to Retirement Living, come and visit this wonderful facility.

RE: Preston Park 1 Residence My mom has been a resident since February 2019. It has been a very positive experience for her but COVID-19 has certainly brought difficulties and changes for my mom, other residents, staff and families. Due to the progression of the disease I am able to actually spend time with my mom in her residence. I understand what a privilege this it and my heart breaks for each and every family that is unable to spend time with their loved ones. The management has been very accommodating and I am grateful every day that they allow me time with my mom as she slips further and further away. While my mom continues to be well taken care of, treated with kindness, respect and dignity, I believe it is also very important to acknowledge the incredible sacrifices of all of those people at Preston Park who are taking care of my mom. The pandemic has placed a great deal of strain on the management, caregivers, support staff, maintenance staff, housekeeping, kitchen staff...everyone. They are taking on the duties family members would typically take on when entering the residence, they are ordering and delivering supplies, they are facilitating appointments...the list goes on and on. And what of their own personal lives? Just as the residents have not been allowed to visit with friends and families, go out for meals, personal care services, shopping, the management and staff have also had to forgo all of these activities that were just part of day to day life before the pandemic. They are struggling as much as the rest of us yet every day they come to work, they hold the hands of our loved ones, they smile with their eyes, they soothe and comfort with their voices, they do everything they can to ease the burdens of anxiety and loneliness that our loved ones are experiencing right now. My mom is SAFE, RESPECTED, TREATED WITH DIGNITY, SHOWN COMPASSION AND GENUINE FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE each and every day that she is in Preston Park. I am grateful for each and every one of you and I will be forever indebted to all of you for taking on the many many things I cannot while this pandemic continues to wreak havoc in the lives of us all. As a volunteer I noticed first hand the extra mile the staff goes, to make the residents have a lovely time during events. Attentive and friendly! Preston Park 1 has, and does give a lot of love!

I have worked in the building since August 2010 and love it as the staff & residents are a wonderful bunch of people. Come and join our terrific family as we have lots of fun with laughter & caring together. We are all a part of a family community in our building. Love you all at Preston Park 1. ❤❤❤❤????????

My grandparents moved here from a different residence in the city after being not happy with the level of service they were receiving overall and the residence suggesting my grandpa move to a higher level of care while grandma remained there, separating them after 60 years of marriage. The difference we noticed at Preston Park was amazing. The management is on point, easy to speak to a readily available at the front desk with their doors always open, at their previous residence it was like jumping through hoops to get an audience with someone in charge. The activities 7 days a week are great for my grandma who can have some time away to socialize and relax while the care staff care for grandpa who has higher needs as that can be overwhelming at times for her. Thanks Preston Park for giving my grandparents to ability to continue living together, it means the world to our family!
