watch out for these scam artists! For those who don't know what to look for, I am positive you have been ripped off and recommend anyone who hires these guys to ensure the tech data sheets are provided and the proper blown in amounts meet manufacturer specifications for what you are requesting and paying for. I hired prairie insulation to provide R60 attic insulation for my powersmart home, and when I met them on site the first time (after they just finished), I asked the installers questions about the R-value per inch and what type of tech data sheets they have for the material being used, and the installers acted suspicious and yelled at me 'that it was R60 and to trust them'. Well it turned out they installed less than R45, but Prairie was at least professional to send these installers back to fix the problem and top up the additional amount required. As it turned out though, they still failed to blow in the proper amount to manufacturer instructions and only met R50 on average but the installers provided enough additional near the attic hatch (where most people would only go to measure) thinking I would not go in and check the work i presume. I met the installers on their 3rd attempt in which they once again falsified their claims that they provided the R60 on the second attempt, and after showing them clear evidence that they are lying to my face, they then ignorantly told me they have done many jobs and have had no complaints before and that there is R60. I told them "go more than 2 feet into the attic and measure" in which they said I was being confrontational. I have yet to confirm there 3rd attempt and do not have high hopes.
