I left the building shaking out of disbelief...
Sadly, my father was put into a home recently but what he left for me was fantastic. Lortone lapidary equipment and a desire to create with stone.
I purchased a number of diamond bits, lapidary blade and a "water swivel" from Andrew (the owner). The first hole I drilled, i thought that the swivel, or the bit wasn't true. After 5 holes drilled, following Andrews instructions the swivel seized up. I live 45 minutes away from Pothier so off I went to get it replaced. Once I arrived Andrew told me, in no uncertain terms, that it was my fault. Being a man of better than 4.5 decades, I have met bullies before. I asked if I could please get the swivel repacked and he agreed. Back home after 1.5 hours in traffic, I put the swivel on, my brand new floor mount, drill press, and low and behold the swivel, after another 7 cuts packed up again! Again, drive 45 min to see what Andrew would have to say about this faulty product. "Lets get this straight, I am not going to give you a replacement for the water swivel, yes its not true, but It was true, when it left the building"
After a moment of calm and negotiations, I realized I was dealing with someone who was incapable of a basic sense of decency.
Some folks are all about the mighty dollar.
I hope that the 250.00 I spent on the faulty water swivel will provide a fantastic bottle of champagne for Andrew on his yacht, he so willingly spoke about when I had my Visa card on the table.
