Poolarama

We replaced the liner and reinstalled liner retainer and pool piping with Poolarama this summer. Steve Bourada (owner) is very knowledgeable and provided all advice related to our pool. Poolarama was cooperative and coordinated their work with us as we had big landscaping project going on. They installed everything but had to come two more times to correct a few errors: replaced skimmer was not properly installed and there was small water leak, and the liner developed wrinkles in the shallow end. Steve visited personally each time and made sure the problems were corrected. Overall, we would hire Poolarama again. Steve seems to be a good person and professional. Unfortunately, we have to give such a low rating since  Steve recommended his brother Marc Bourada (Outdoor Living; Creative Solutions) to do our landscaping job last fall. That turned out to be a horrible recommendation as Marc Bourada is completely different: disorganized, could not provide any technical detail, insisted on 25% deposit which we paid in January, only to walk away from the project in July after providing zero value in his services. Here we are now, near the end of September, still waiting for Marc Bourada (Outdoor Living; Creative Solutions) to give back the deposit. Beware.

I can’t speak highly enough about the service I got from Poolarama. I dealt with Adam Bourada by email and his responses were prompt and knowledgeable. He actually tried to talk me OUT of a new liner, thinking I didn’t really need it. I’ll be dealing with them for all future pool needs.

Poolarama did some work for us. It was o.k. (new liner and replaced pipes for the pool). After several recalls they got it right: wrinkled liner was almost completely straightened (except in the corners it is still wrinkled), leaks around the skimmer fixed after a couple of tries. But unfortunately, Steve Bourada, who with his borther Derrick operates Poolarama had also recommended his brother Marc Bourada, who at some point in the past parted his business ways with his brothers and is now going and operating under business names "Outdoor living designs" and "Creative Solutions Inc" for some backyard design work. Well, two years later Marc is nowhere to be found holding on to my over $20k (the Ontario Small Claims Court made a judgement for over $20k + interest) but now Marc is not responding to his phone, not returning calls, did not respond to the judgement. According to Derrick Bourada, they have worked with Marc and will continue working with Marc in the future, but his business has nothing to do with them. And we are not the only ones: I'm aware of other cases where the same vector lead to Marc swindling various amounts of money: Steve would recommend Marc, Marc would collect and vanish at various stages of the project. I won't be going back, I hope you will understand.

This is a great store for outdoor furniture. We have purchased custom made cushions and other garden related items. Their products are a good quality and reasonably priced.

I've been picking up parts, supplies, and especially sage advice for years. I picked up a vacuum head today that was a better size, more solidly built and even noticably cheaper than comparable online sellers. I biked over, they brought out a few models to compare and I rode away happy. They were nice and knowledgeable.

Poolarama is an exceptional, family run business that provides outstanding service to its customers. After checking out a few other companies in the Ottawa region I decided to call Poolarama. Steve Bourada dropped by our place and very quickly was able to scan our land and determine the best options for us. Off the top of his head he was able to draw out the dimensions and landscaping suggestions to get the right design. Our project was a large one and I am very picky (he knows this ?. All throughout, and taking into account the fact that we were pool newbies, he had the utmost patience explaining all options to us with recommendations based on many years of experience. Our pool was built at a crazy time, during Covid-19. During this period the supply chain was disrupted and we had issues getting our original liner as well as our steps. Steve researched all across the supply chain in both Canada and the USA until he found the right/closest match to our original designs. This took painstaking effort. On an ongoing basis he made sure nothing in the project slipped. Despite how much business they had (due to the huge surge in pool demand during Covid) Steve ALWAYS managed to get back to me in a reasonable time to answer the MANY questions I had over the term of our project. I never even had to anything more than send him an email and he would call me back in a timely manner. Never too busy for us. His team is great as well, from the excavation crew, aka Roger, to his project manager, Russel, who deserves special thanks for all his hard work and everyone in between. I think part of this great service must be due to the fact that this is a family run business where you are not a number. Unlike other pool companies where you get sent off to a pool consultant without half the knowledge, here you deal directly with the owners that are part of a family run company. Chose Poolarama to build your pool (and I suspect anything else pool-related) and you won't regret it. I know I sure didn't!!

The staff are very knowledgeable, always ready to give great advice and they have everything that you need from basic chemicals to advanced filter plumbing materials and advice! I highly recommend that you visit if you have an above ground or in ground pool ?
