My father had passed suddenly from covid related complications mid Jan, 2021. Mark was very patient with me regarding the fact that I was the only one able to make any final arrangements and the last remaining family member. He was conscientious of the fact that I was grieving, but also was poignant about the services available, when i was ready. Did not feel pressured to buy anything or pursue any wishes that weren't warranted. In fact, I had a couple of particular requests that they happened to meet faster than expected. Despite the over encumbrance they were facing from all the challenges related to covid for their own staff, providing funeral services to positive covid deaths like my father. They still made the effort to make sure I was taken care of and that my father was treated with dignity and respect. As odd as this is for me to make a review for a funeral home, the realities of which i'm still digesting, I do find solace in knowing I only had to go through this experience once. And if I had to again, I still would have chosen pleasant valley. However, I will make one criticism, there isn't any appropriate plots available. Which was a disappointment for me, as my dad and I had chosen decades ago that we would want to be buried together in this location. So if a plot and tombstone is what you're looking for, you might have to look elsewhere.

My sweet baby brother was stillborn in December and they were so kind, very much appreciated in such a devastating time. They were very very generous. Always very welcoming, and they squeezed me in for a small last visit with my brother the day he went for cremation, even tho there wasn't a time slot available. Of course I wished for more time but that's not on the funeral home, no amount of time would have been enough :( To this day they've been so understanding with my questions and my occasional visits. Gave me the best experience I could have had in such a horrible time. Very kind people, each employee I spoke with was very kind.

Jessica Baycroft and the staff at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home were absolutely amazing to work with during these very difficult times. Unfortunately, our family lost two loved ones in the past year, but the whole process was made much easier by the professionalism, understanding, and compassion we experienced. Everything was looked after so quickly and it eased the burden on us greatly. I would highly recommend Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.

My family and I recently had a funeral for my father who passed unexpectedly. I had spent 30 hours editing a memorial video to some of his favourite songs. We gave them a flash drive a few hours prior to the service, after being assured that that was all we needed. Because of their outdated equipment and poor AV troubleshooting skills, I asked a family member to line her cellphone into their board directly, and then we played unedited and unsynchronized versions of the songs while the videos played. The director who was there clearly did not understand the equipment they were using, and the guy they had on AV was incompetent and not confident in his work. I was really quite upset but we were able to make it work with my solution. We were also told there was a keyboard setup for my aunt to sing a song but the keyboard was bit industry viable, nor was there even a microphone stand. I can’t speak for the other departments, the venue is nice enough and the room the service was in was comfortable while feeling outdated. The simple problem of not having modern equipment and the ability to use other interfaces really dampened the mood of the service as very many people were looking forward to the very high effort video I had edited. I have decided after this experience, to not use funeral homes for my loved ones in the future, if possible. I know I wouldn’t want my memorial to have infrastructure issues like that. I would urge you to research other funeral homes if you have specific needs like that. No hard feelings to any of the people there, but I really was surprised at the gaps in their AV knowledge when most funerals have at least music and a slideshow.

Pleasant Valley Funeral Home provided a compassionate environment while my Mother's funeral arrangements were made. They walked us through the steps that our family had to face during the lose of someone we love so deeply, with patience and kindness. Providing us with options -- without pressure and foreseeing our needs before we could vocalize them-- helped us to cope. Thank you for everything !
