Well, Phoenix does have high standards and expectations that clients adhere to the structure of a well balanced recovery program, and there are more than ample resources on-site to fulfill these expectations and more. I unfortunatly see a past client has made a few unsubstanciated claims that are over the top innapropriate and false, and i might suggest that YES, after a trail of destruction relapse back into his addiction, and more than one physically violent anger rages on other clients, a refusal to participate in community social deposit volunteer activities, and a disturbance causing negative attitude - this negative review posting past client was asked to leave the center....and it appears major sour grapes. Anyways, this blessed facility saved mine and many others lives, and i have an attitude of grattitude for all the things they do.

This place is the embodiment of progressive thoughts and persptectives. The envision ment of of true pioneer of the Feild of Mental health and addictions Men and Women suffering from addiction now have a supportive of environment with professionals that are there to help navigate thier way towards redemption. I spent 16 months in the second stage housing and went on the achieve 5 1/2 years of abstinence. I walked away from The Pheonix center with an intimate understanding of the causative factors as to why I used drugs. I acquired a lot of valuable chipping skills that gave me a deeper understanding of how to cope without using drugs to manage my feelings and tribulations. Great place with a lot of resources built into one system.

In all my days on this planet I never thought I would be able to live without addiction. I was completely lost when I arrived at the Phoenix Society's door, and now I have a life. Not only does Phoenix help people get clean, it gives people a life. I had not graduated high school or held a job for longer then the first few paychecks my whole life. Now I have a diploma in Public Relations from Kwantlen University, am on my way to having a great career, and I have been clean and sober for over 2 and a half years. Phoenix is a 12 step based program. MILLIONS of people are living clean and sober today because of those 12 steps. The AA/NA communities in BC are huge, and they are a great place for people like me to find supportive friends. Thank you Phoenix.

The Phoenix Centre. This treatment facility saved my life. I had absolutely no where else to turn to and they opened the doors for my good life I have today. As only fellow human being with an active addiction could imagine, recovery was the hardest thing we could do in our lives. This treatment centre gave me the tools and resources to turn it around. Today I have over 6 years of recovery and going strong. I have nothing but praise for this facility and every year go back and share my experience, strength and hope with the new clients in early stabilization. God blessed this place!

Place is the worst, strictest treatment centre i have ever been too. You cant close your door during the day, you cant go to any stores except dq and petro only with two other people, still have to wear masks, they treat you like a kid its out of control

I spent 15 total months at Phoenix. 3 in treatment and a year in transitional housing. The counseling resources they have are phenomenal mostly due to having SUS right next door. Unfortunately by the time I left my relationship with the team soured. A lot of the staff stopped fighting for what was right in favor of securing their cushy jobs. We weren't allowed to hold meetings. The entirety of the clients staying there were punished for the actions of 1 or 2. Adults were being straight up treated like children. It had a very high school feel. The rules were ever changing without letting the clients know(I got in trouble more times for breaking a new rule that I didn't know existed than for anything else). Communication there is TERRIBLE. Has been the entirety of my stay. A lot of the problems currently at Phoenix stem from the fact that they are under Fraser Health and have to follow a strict Covid guideline. That's not the staff's fault, but the lack of communication is their fault and one they've refused to correct. I would be leaving 2 stars if it wasn't for the unique opportunity Phoenix offers in it's 2nd stage. $375/month for a nice batchelor suite that you can stay at for up to 2 years. You can really get your life back on track with that kind of time and affordable living. I really wished I could have experienced this place outside of Covid to truly see what it could have offered, but things really started to go downhill by the time I'd left. It kind of coincides with the hiring of the new TH manager, whose methods I did not appreciate. Nor did many others. I certainly wasn't the only person disgruntled by the end. The vast majority of us were. Imo this is a 3 star program that, under better management, could easily be a 5 star program as well as a model of how treatment centers should be run. I hope they get there, eventually. Sincerely, Joshua Fuller

I was a previous resident in the Transitional Housing Program in 2016-2017. I returned as an employee in 2020. I love the team and how everyone is client focused. I recommend this treatment centre to anyone who is looking to build healthy connections and live a long abstinent fulfilling life!
