All women so maybe it was a fashion statement not a compliance with public health order. When I mentioned that to the cashier she commented "people will do what they want to do " to which I suggested that refusing service might go a long way ... she just moved her shoulders in that special way and our discussion was finished.

The woman working till 4 (heavy set, glasses, bob haircut) glanced over at me as I walked up and then went back to whatever she was doing. A few minutes pass and a white couple pulls up behind me, the woman on till 4 then looks over at the couple, completely ignoring me, and says "I can help you here on till 4". Now up until then I had been having a wonderful day, I usually shop here despite numerous claims of racism from employees because I've been shopping here for the past 8 years, I've seen 3 different owners and entirely different staffs. The experiences have gradually been getting worse since the first owner passed away, though I didn't expect anything could get worse than the environment Gord had created. Guess I was wrong. The store I used to love going to has become a hostile environment where I have to quickly grab what I need and use the self check out, because of how rude and borderline racist the check out staff is. If not for the high prices I would be shopping at IGA. At least their employees are kind.
