About Patent 5 Distillery and Tasting Room
Formerly an accountant, his past line of work took Brock on many trips around North America. Patent 5 was dreamt up after Brock visited a distillery on the recommendation of a bartender at a craft brewery. A craft beer enthusiast and home brewer with a chemistry degree — Brock teamed up with two friends and the support of his wife, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The amount of knowledge you gain from this tour is definitely worth the low $10 admission price that includes a drink (gin or tonic or non alcoholic option off the menu).
It's in a slightly hard to find out of the way section of the exchange district. It's a gem of a find when you do get to it. It's for a distinct atmosphere that makes for a moody almost romantic feel.
There were so many interesting facts, but you'll have to go see the tour. Here are a few tidbits:
-5th patent was for column or patent still, it was a new technology that helped increase the efficiency of ethanol production.
-The vodka is distilled through 16 plates for a clean taste.
-They make 350 bottles per run, which isn't that high of an amount.
-Everything on their menu includes one item that is made in house
-my friend insisted this was one of the best gins she's had in awhile!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loved it! The staff were fantastic and friendly - and the place itself has an awesome vibe and environment.
Our drinks were great - I really appreciate that they don't use disposable straws and have much nicer ones. Love LOVE loved the cheese plate! (They even have a vegan version.) Their gin brew is phenomenal!
Can't wait to do back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was terrible, went on a Friday night and there was almost no one there, with more staff than customers. A waitress came to us promptly and took our order but then disappeared for the rest of the time we were there. I later found her sitting at the bar with a drink when I went looking for another round of drinks. The drinks were interesting in concept, but were way overpriced in small glasses overloaded with ice. Not worth it.
