I would like to express my gratitude to the Canadian veterans who participated in the Korean War in 1950. I can't express everything in words of gratitude, but he fought for an unknown country that is far away, and that is why Korea can exist now. Seeing the memorial to the Korean War I met in a small city in Canada, I feel heartbroken and desperate again.

Originally the memorial was erected to honour the men and women lost in the First World War. The names of the major battles of that conflict are engraved in the monument. No names of those lost appear anywhere in this memorial. After the Second World War, two stone shafts were added to recognize the battles of the second major war. Again, no names can be found anywhere. The list of names is likely long, as Paris is a fairly large community, so as with most towns of any size, only the battles are listed. At the entrance of this lovely parkette, there is also an elegant Verdin post clock with the words "Lest We Foget" painted in gold, also to honour the many men and women who served and sacrificed.
