★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are a business owner looking to buy the Amber POS software, I would think twice before buying it. The system is a bit old school but very functional and customizable. The main problem with Amber is service after the sale. I have had the system in three stores for almost 4 years. You pay a sizable amount for the software up front but then are required to pay a monthly service fee for tech support. In almost four years, not once have I called and got someone on the phone. Their protocol is to call and leave a voicemail or email and they will get back to you on their time. When you have a customer with you and/or your system is down, you could be waiting an hour or more for a call back or overnight if they are closed.(They do not offer after hours support per their tech Dane via phone today.) It’s tough to trust a software to run your inventory and all of your transactions and not be able to get support. This review is not based off of a single incident but rather a summary of over the past 3.5 of doing business with Amber POS. There has got to be a better way.
