You want to think twice before you drive this grable road with an RV. It gave us a real hard time. 5 hours at least. But besides that, this campground is the middle of nowhere ia absolutely beautifull! Maybe even my favorite place during my visit in Canada. You'll have te sea, a river, mountains and we saw our first bear there. (Gotta be up early though ?)

This place is outstanding! Everything was perfect. Very well run and maintained. People get passports, and buy expensive plane tickets and hotels to escape to "paradise". All I needed was a bumpy road and an amazing co-pilot.

Absolutely stunning beauty! Seen so many animals! Seen bears across the river every morning! Will be back next year! A bit of drive in very rough roads must plan to drive slow, but this keeps too many people coming here

PACHENA ranks top of our list on our Vancouver Island roadtrip. This was the 3rd and last camp we stayed at before returning to the city. Our favorite campsite yet - rustic, private, spacious sites, natural beauty, lots of nature walks, forest, massive beach front, caves, epic sunrise and sunset, great place for digital detox & solitude, RV hook up, hot shower, just to name a few... Lots of history here, would love to see a nature walk to learn more about the land, First Nations and their culture... ***Would love other campers to practice LNT, we picked up 3 bags of garbage on our way out. Leave campsite better than how you found it. Please visit responsibly.

This beach is the reason we decided to move to Bamfield. Beautiful and healing.

The campground operators were so friendly and super easy-going. We had such a good experience that words can’t begin to describe. At one point we had to go back into town to grab a bigger tarp; yes it can rain pretty hard, and the fog doesn’t care about gravity so it’ll creep up into everything you have. Despite the challenges of staying warm/dry, overall it was an easy 10/10 Pro tip #1: there’s hot a water faucet on the outside of the ladies shower room. For a huge morale boost, use this tap to fill up a basin for a hot foot bath. But don’t be greedy and use more than you need! Otherwise it might get cut off.

My favourite place on Vancouver Island. This place is a hidden gem. Quiet, peaceful and so remarkably beautiful. You won’t find this anywhere else. Highly recommend taking the Lady Rose Marine Services from Port Alberni (now called the Francis Barkley). About a 4 hour boat ride with incredible views that takes you straight into Bamfield.

Great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Wonderful large, quiet, secluded campsites. The beach was incredible..and the view..well it was worth the drive. The only issue was..... I was with an elderly friend, who was unable to use the lovely ,clean and tidy washrooms. The reason..the toilets were incredibly low and very hard to rise up from for people with any kind of disability..like knee or hip issues. But other than this...it was a great trip. Highly recommend.
