Oxford Child Development Centre is a licensed, accredited childcare center based in west-Edmonton, established in 2006. About Oxford Child Development Centre

We work diligently to create opportunities for the children to engage in creative activities and projects geared to the specific interests of the children in our program. In the summer we organize for the children to take field trips around the city and invite quality programs into our center to support the themes chosen by the children. We provide a morning and afternoon snack, outdoor play, reward days, summer field trips, and meaningful learning activities. We offer developmentally appropriate, open-ended experiences for children, and encourage them to make their own choices and decisions when appropriate to do so.

When my daughter went here their was a really bad bunch of kids. Hitting, throwing things and scratching and it seemed that the staff did little to discourage that kind of behavior. I heard many times from my daughter about another child scratching her and I'd lift up her shift and she'd have marks but yet the staff said NOTHING to me about it. The final straw was when I picked her up one afternoon and she told me that another kid threw sand at her and her eye was still hurting. As I inspected it I could see something was stuck in her eye. Needless to say she had several trips to the hospital and finally it ended in surgery. thankfully it has not effected her vision. Accidents happen but NO ONE mentioned to me when I picked her up that she had sand in her eye and that it was still bothering her. All they would have to do was look and they could have seen a metal piece in lodged in her eye. The staff doesn't care about the safely and well being of children and I feel they try to hide it by not talking to parents and letting them know things that happen to your child during the day. DO NOT send your child there! It's been over 2 years and my 6 year old still talks about that place with horror. She is so worried that I am going to send her back there or her sister. Which I would NEVER do.

I'm onto my second child at Oxford and it's been a wonderful experience both times. In the three years we've been there ( 2011 - 2015) I've always felt that the staff cared about my kids, they are safe, the facility is clean, and they get to have fun. What else could I ask for. There's a number of parents there whom have put multiple kids through Oxford. They must be doing something right ☺
