The guy who came to check on our house inside and outside for rats was excellent. He was organized and kind. He reported to me about the lack of dead rats in our roof. He explained that we need to create a one foot space around the base of our house which will deter the rats from getting in. I appreciated the fact that he came on time too.

The technician who come to our site, Ken, is great! He's professional, thorough, and helps educate us on how to avoid future issues. We're a non-profit running social programs and services for the community, so it's also nice to get a friendly technician.

We moved into a new build home last year and noticed a wasp nest in early June in our eaves. Orkin came and treated it and told us it would be very unlikely for the nest to come back. As it’s high up, we do not inspect the area regularly. We have recently noticed a baseball sized wasp nest in the exact same area. According to the website, β€œIf re-treatment is required, we'll provide immediate services at no extra cost.” I called the customer service line and was told someone would call back the next day. When I didn’t hear back a couple days later, I called again, and the agent took down my information again and notified me that I would have to pay for retreatment as they only guarantee 30 days of wasps from coming back. She notified me that they would charge between $120-170 (as rates have gone up since our last treatment) and would call back when a service technician was available. When she called back, she cited that we should have never been charged $100 last year (even though that was quoted to us before technician even came). She also told us that it would be minimum $225 to remove the new baseball sized nest (as that is their minimum charge). She also offered after hours treatment at an additional cost. This seems like greedy practice to provide reassurance, guarantee, then try to squeeze as much money from the customer as possible. Never again. Poor response, poor results, and poor business ethics.

Orkin has been reliable and trustworthy. They are diligent about checking traps every month and communication around activity has been excellent. We have used them for several years and would happily recommend them.

Called with my issue. Provided options and they were able to perform a test for no cost. They were not able to assist with the resolution however provided me with good advice to help myself. Issue was resolved and they made NO revenue. Next time I or a friend needs some form of pest control service I would recommend 100% and happy to go to them first! Thank you.

I am truly disappointed in Orkin Canada. I noticed a mice issue in my home and called Orkin right away without thinking twice about going with a different company. Now I wish I would have gone with someone else. I'm less then a week into their 3 month plan and I totally regret it. The technician that came by, he was able to find the entry point which was important. However, he was not able to patch up the spot temporarily with steel wool because he said he does not have it and would need to go buy it (patching up is included our 3 month plan). He gave us 5 traps, one in each room. He asked if we want to place it ourselves. I'm surprised he even offered to have us place traps on our own, we are not the professionals so we wouldn't even know where to start. Overnight, we saw mice activity from a few cameras we set up and called the next day on Saturday for extra traps, the agent on the phone said we would get a call Monday morning as urgent. Left 3 voicemails, no call backs. It's Wednesday now. I would NOT recommend Orkin as they are a big company and seems like they don't care about their customers once you get charged in my experience. If you do go with them, expect at least a few days delay before you can get a hold of anyone for help. In the future I would definitely go with a different company.

Firstly I love to leave a review, IF it is positive. My review of the visit of your technician is far from positive. Shortly after 2pm on January 7th, a gentleman came to our home on a prearranged appointment. He was polite and on time. At this point, when the assessment for our mouse problem began so did a slippery slope. The technician shone his flashlight around our kitchen and looked in our pantry. He did not attempt to move any of our food containers to check behind them. I told him about the holes in the walls in the pantry that deliver electrical wiring to the area. His comment was get some duct tape and cover the holes. I am not sure how this would get rid of the mice. His suggestion for this particular type of fix under the sink was the same. At that point things took a serious nose dive. He attempted to pull out our gas stove from the wall by reefing on the oven door handle. He used such force that the door opened and the handle came off on one side of the door. It wedged itself in the pan drawer below the oven door. He now attempted to reattach the handle torn off the oven door. Naturally the temperature in our kitchen was rising. At this point I smelled gas. It turned out through all this reefing and reattaching of the handle the gas on one of the elements had been turned on. I was not happy with the competence and surely did not expect someone to attempt to remove a gas stove or any other appliance by just yanking on the handle. The lower handle is still bent. Happy with the result of our assessment...not the result we expected. We still have the mice.

My workplace uses Orkin to manage a mouse problem and they were able to help and rectify the problem. They have been very accommodating with our choice of services as I was personally against some of the methods (ie: glue traps). One tech. in particular, Rommel has been very helpful, friendly and educational. He was able to work with me to find solutions that I was comfortable with while addressing the issue. This was much appreciated.
