OAC is a prep year for university after grade 12 in the advanced or now called academic stream. There are significant changes and improvements since I went and my older kids attend here currently. The investment in this new school has allowed for far greater amounts of extra curricular activities as well as outstanding options to cultivate the arts. Besides the experiences offered in art, music and drama... there is also dance! I would have loved that when I went. The library is good but I miss the thousands of books and cosy nooks of a more traditional library. I feel libraries can have all the modern amenities including current technologies but also maintain the look and feel of a library full of tall shelves loaded with books. The staff is in a constant state of learning and adapting to the plethora of changes occurring. They have been accommodating and inclusive. I bring issues to their attention and they do their best to create solutions. I feel this school is the best fit for my older children at this time. A school is only as good as it's teachers, students, parents and community... all positive change starts with you.
