About OPA! of Greece 8th Street - Saskatoon

We started with a souvlaki skewer and a dream

OPA! is a Greek word used to express happiness, and evokes the joy and celebration of feasting with family and friends. Since we opened our first location over 20 years ago, everything we’ve done has been driven by the philosophy of OPA!

The OPA! experience combines fresh Mediterranean cuisine with the friendly customer service we've become known for. We’re a quick-service Greek restaurant, but that just refers to the time it takes to serve our lovingly-made dishes. From the first bite, you’ll want to slow down and enjoy the moment with friends and family. We don’t just want you to love your meal; we want to have made a positive difference in your day.

Love OPA. That's why I didn't give it 1 star. But when ordering at this location they literally have us half the food that every other OPA gives. Calamari Greek Salad is supposed to come in a large takeout container, but here they gave it to us in a half size. Now if we really want OPA we just go to the north end of the city where they do things right.

I was hoping for calamari. Showed up 15 mins before closing. Worker seemed hostile toward my question, asking if they were still cooking. Overall I didn’t feel welcome and left with a salad. With no olives ? I would have asked for a bigger meal but the guy made me feel uncomfortable for even being there and I should of just left. ? Next time just let people know “the grills are shut off” and make a suggestion for some other type of food you have available.

Went during dinner time (6pm). Asked for caesar and got Greek instead. Rice was hard and old. Workers are nice though.

I have ordered from here twice now. They did not follow instructions and missed items and added ones that were not requested. This second time was worst than the first. Thought I would hive a second chance wish I didn't now. Food tasted gross and did not have what I wanted on it.

Just ordered through skip the dishes and I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. Literally my entire order was wrong. Like every single thing about it. I'm super annoyed by all of it. Besides everything being wrong and missing half the items (including tzatziki... there was none. Not a single one. And I even paid for an extra large container), the food itself is really bad. The pita wrap has almost nothing in it, the fries are soooo soggy and the calamari is way too salty to even be edible. I wouldn't be eating it anyway though cuz there's no tzatziki for it. This order doesn't even deserve one star but there was no option for zero. I will never order from this location again and it's pretty unlikely I'll be returning to any Opa again.

I generally always go here for Calamari and Caesar Salad when I'm running errands on 8th St... but this time, there was a piece of metal wire cooked into my calamari.... last time going to that location... that could've gone really bad if I had not spit out that bite of food. Like... I shouldn't be paying $15 for Caesar salad with no croutons/barely any dressing and metal wire in my Calamari...

This is for both locations on 51st street and on 8th street. The people working the register taking orders must hate their job. No smile or any kind of facial expression at all. Just made me and who ever I was with feel awkward and uncomfortable. Tired of people type of attitude towards me and other customers that were ahead and before. Like I don't need a parade when I go in. Just be happy you are working and take the order instead of making me feel like I interrupted your break. That is the only reason I never went back since two years ago. First on 8th street, second and third times on 51st hoping it will get better. Nope, same service every time. I think this food is the most delicious and I hate that I can't bring myself to go back in to order or online just because of the awful experiences. Hopefully things changed I want to try the food again.

I ordered "feel good Falafel". It was one of the most delicious Falafel that I had. Try it for sure.
