★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be very careful driving to or from town, the speed limit seems to be much lower than warranted, and it heavily patrolled . I was informed by a local mechanic that many who are stopped will have to stay for a vehicle inspection. My advice if you do get pulled over make sure you get off the road to avoid being towed and hopefully have a lawyer on speed dial. I never stop and spend any money in this town, preferring to avoid it altogether and travel up by Chapleau.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overlooked a couple of speed limits here a few years ago and got a hefty(!) fine. However, the officers were super friendly and forthcoming. Very understanding and quick. Would strongly recommend sticking to the speed limit but if you don’t, at least they treat you with professionalism and respect.
