About Olds Splash Park

Mountain View County Regional Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan

The Towns of Olds, Didsbury, Carstairs, and Sundre, the Village of Cremona, and Mountain View County, came together collaboratively to develop a Regional Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan in 2009. Since that time, each community has changed substantially, and all have experienced growth in residential, commercial, and industrial areas. As each community grows, new amenities, programs, and services will be needed to meet the needs of each community and the region, as a whole.
To ensure investments in parks, recreation and culture best meet the needs of their communities, the municipal partners have come together once again to develop an updated master plan. The master plan includes an assessment of the current state of parks, recreation and culture infrastructure and service delivery, recommended priorities to meet current and future needs, and a prioritized implementation plan that will guide decisions related to parks, recreation and culture in the Mountain View region.
With funding secured through a grant through Alberta Community Partnership (ACP), the Town of Olds took the lead role and commissioned Expedition Management Consulting (EMC) to lead the project.  A committee comprised of representation from all six municipalities worked with EMC to compile hard data and public input that serves as the foundation for the final recommendations of the plan.  It is anticipated that this collaboration will ensure that all citizens within Mountain View County will be able to meet their recreational and cultural needs.
Included in the 2021 Mountain View County Regional Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan is a Mountain View Region Case for Tourism and Strategic Recommendations. The purpose of this report is to establish a case for investment in tourism and provide broad strategic recommendations related to encouraging tourism development in the Mountain View region.
On November 22, 2021, Town of Olds Council accepted the Mountain View Regional Parks, Recreation, and Culture Master Plan as a planning document to guide future decisions regarding parks, recreation, and culture in Olds.

Not happy about the splash park being down and out of service. Hoping that the town gets it back working for this summer. Not impressed at this point.

Very nice place for kids and friends who like to play in the water in the summer

My kids love this place more then they love the swimming pool. A lot of good ole fashioned fun can be had by all, not just little kids, teenagers as well. Even adults.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great water park, but they have a few posted rules that are very strict and even unreasonable: Small Children Only - Really? Older children, teenagers, and adults shouldn't be allowed to use the facility to cool down? Do Not Use If You Had Diarrhea Within The Past 14 Days - Oh, come on! Surely I'm not the only human who doesn't keep track of every bowel movement they had over the past 2 weeks? If they would revise the rules to be more realistic I'd give it a 5 star rating!

It'd be great if they actually turned the water on when it's supposed to. Over 20 minutes later and several phone calls and they finally show up. Shouldn't someone be scheduled for such an important job?! Besides that, it's a decent water area. It is extremely lacking in proper washroom and changing facilities, leaving most people to change in their cars, which is a struggle with small children. Separate washroom and changing rooms are desperately needed.

Our kids love this splash park! It has many cool features including a Combine with slide and water jets, and a water tower that periodically lets out a huge dump of water! Perfect for a family play and picnic especially since they have bathrooms there and their picnic tables have shades above them
