This public pathway (the Friendship Trail) runs along Lake Erie in Fort Erie, ON. It borders the ruins of one of the first amusement parks there, one which was visited by many US visitors coming across the lake from Buffalo, NY. The ruins are in the woods that grew before and after the park, and those woods now contain a lot of wildlife and plants, including several endangered or protected species. This is also a historic area where various battles of the War of 1812 were fought, and men from both countries lost their lives. It is a beautiful location, and a feeling of peace and tranquility.

I walk my dog here twice daily for the most part. every day I see people who are from out of town. the leave there garbage which a few of us that walk there regularly pick up after the slobs who have no respect for the area and its beauty. stay away if you are not from Fort Erie!! the covid virus is real and we don't need or want you here !!

Adorable local spot great for visiting the beach, walking the dog, or just enjoying a nice stroll. The actual beach is further down at Waverly Beach or back towards Buffalo with the main Fort Erie Beach. This area is only a trail combined with lots of rocks - not a sand beach. The trail is really nice and takes you alongside the water. There are markers indicating what used to be here for educational purposes and you can still see the remains/ruins of the old buildings. Many people like to adventure out onto the collapsed concrete for a bigger adventure and it is very common to see people climbing the rocks. The trail also has some very sweet and quirky decor (little fairy doors) and rock sculptures made by locals passing through. The trees are very tall and canopy the trail which does not let many weeds grow alongside the path. The path is very open and you can see all around you making it pretty safe.

Always love the walk on the trail and the beach, beautiful views of the lake, lots of birds and other wild life. Great picnic area in summer and plenty of memorial benches if you just need to sit a bit

A hidden treasure tells a story of the time. Once a playground with biggest swimming pool and a casino, now, a quiet beach. In the winter, piles of ice are gathering here because of the nearby ice boom.

Beautiful little walk by the water. Needs more upkeep due to water ruining the concrete but Forrest trail is peaceful.

Erie Beach Park was dubbed the Million Dollar Playground as it was a place where the wealthy would come to enjoy the amusement park and entertainment that would be put on display at the giant old getaway. There were wide promenades and even a giant pool to go along with the hotel and other on site entertainment.
