The owner and chief producer of Octave studios, Nathanael is an absolute gem. He's been apart of the music scene for a long time & has always been a genuine, kind and hardworking guy.

Amazing quality & experience for the money; prompt, professional & polite... Would highly recommend to anyone! But especially to artists/bands that demand the use of acoustic drum kits & loud guitars (their specialty is metal and we're alternative rock, but they were very happy to have us anyway). Staying overnight and doing late sessions was not a problem, very affordable and comfortable. They are NOT a hotel, but they are homey and accommodating. Matt, their in house artist, is a gem and took care of our visuals and Nate is an outgoing character, knows what he means, means what he says and is very credible, creative, FUN and willing to lead by example (not all sound engineers I've met are as musical as he.) Plus he is also handy with cameras, video editing, experimenting with mic placement techniques and servicing/providing instruments. However, post production FX are not his thing though (not an EDM guy) So bring your chops, its all you'll need ;) Anyways, their work output is ever growing in quantity and quality and it speaks for itself! Our FracturedWisdom EP would not exist without having collaborated with these guys... thanks boys! Great studio if you want to get down to business and be productive! Only takes a weekend or so to track a song (we did 5 songs in 5 weekends, split over over 5 months). That and a $50-$100 contribution from each member of your band is all it takes to produce a simple, well-rehearsed song with these guys. I would visit them soon, before they up their rates lol If your not from Medicine Hat, but are thinking of making the drive, please do, I see no reason not too, you won't regret it! Great experience! Also, they have very nice cats :)

I had a very pleasant experience here. Nate has a very efficient use of time, was flexible my time and money and made me feel very comfortable with recording. Also has a lot of input for ideas and tips to better the sound. I would recommend this studio to anyone, especially those who may feel nervous or shy or if you are someone who needs a comfortable and chill environment to work in.
